O2 Bistro has been renamed to Schafer's Coastal Bar & Grille.
My spouse and I had an early dinner there on New Year's Eve. The added benefit to an early arrival on Tuesday-Friday is you can order off the Happy Hour Menu as Happy Hour extends from 4-7 pm. We were seated at a "windowside" table on the outdoor patio, which has a clear plastic covering forming a see through wall from floor to ceiling in the wintertime along the outside edge of the patio to keep the heat in. It did a pretty good job except for our feet which got a little cold because there is a slight gap between the floor and the covering. The view of the water was nice and added to the ambiance. The inside of Schafer's is where the bar is and was much noisier so for a quieter time, sit on the outside patio.
As for our dinner, we were both very pleased. We started off with a couple of their signature martinis, lavendar lemon drop and blueberry cucumber, which were quite good. We then had the Oysters Rockefeller which were very tasty and served very hot (and we were told by our server that they had just been removed from the oven) so be forewarned that it might be best to let them sit for a minute or two before digging in. For the main course, I went with the Thai snapper, which has a light but tasty curry sauce. It was prepared well and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also chose grilled asparagus and crispy brussels sprouts as my accompaniments, both of which were very well prepared. My spouse chose the Snapper Schafer, which comes with jumbo lump crab, pasta, asparagus, tomatoes, and mushrooms and is topped with a Chardonnay butter cream sauce. My spouse really liked the dish. We didn't have any room left for dessert but the dessert menu looked appealing.
The service was excellent, neither too smothering nor too scarce.
We didn't order any wine, but my perusal of the wine list disclosed that it had enough variety to please most anyone.
