We had a fairly early reservation so we arrived at the restaurant before the crowd. We were seated at a very nice and comfortable booth. Our server JP was there promptly and was helpful with suggestions on cocktails, wine, appetizers, and more. The restaurant is what I would call casual upscale. It isn't a white tablecloth and dim lights kind of place. It has a sports bar type of vibe with TVs in the lively bar area. The drink prices were very reasonable and they have a nice selection of higher end whiskeys. We had appetizers including a smoked salmon feature, shrimp cocktail, and calamari. All three appetizers were fantastic. The presentation was simple, but the flavors were really excellent. I ordered the tenderloin filet medium. My hopes weren't high given that I wasn't in some high-end steakhouse, but I was blown away with the quality. My steak was an absolutely perfect medium, so flavorful, moist, and tender. The sides of green beans had a perfect amount of garlic flavor. My wife ordered the baramundi and she liked the fish, but thought the cream sauce on top was a bit excessive. For dessert, we had the carrot cake and it was just ok. We wouldn't bother getting the carrot cake again. They also did a decaf espresso martini that was really delicious. Long story short, if you are looking for a chef that can turn out gourmet dishes in a casual environment for a reasonable price, Oak and Main is definitely worth a visit. The drinks, appetizers, and steak were the highlights for us. I'd go again in a heartbeat for the drinks, appetizers, and tenderloin filet. I'd just skip the cream sauce on the baramundi and try a desert other than the carrot cake. My only other observation was our waiter was looking to turn the table quickly for the next guests. It wasn't super high pressure, but when you're asked for your entre order before you get appetizers, or your desert order before you finish the entre, it felt a bit rushed to turn the table.
