Located on Charleston's historic Broad Street, Oak Steakhouse is a classic American steakhouse. A classic array of both wet and dry aged Certified Angus® Beef are featured on the menu. Ingredients are sourced locally and regionally from sustainable farmers and fisherman to accent the steakhouse menu. Items including local oysters on the half-shell, Clammer Dave's caper clams and a daily fresh fish selection depending on the season. Other popular dishes include the whole fried lobster, goat.sheep.cow artisanal cheese plate, wedge of Kurios Farms bibb lettuce salad, the house-made pasta and vegetarian plate. The expansive and impressive wine program at Oak Steakhouse emphasizes big California Cabernets and Old World reds from Italy and Bordeaux with more than 200 wines by the bottle and 20 wines by the glass. The bar attracts a loyal, local following from nearby businesses and neighborhoods with its great cocktails and happy hour. Inside a historic bank building that dates back to 1848, Oak's stately setting features three floors with five distinct dining areas. Arched windows, 20-foot ceilings, original metal work, fireplaces and 150-year-old heart pine floors, offers the perfect setting for enjoying a special evening.

The first thing that impressed us was the friendly and welcoming Staff. They greeted us and made us feel at home as soon as we entered the establishment. The ambiance is cozy, tasteful and comfortable: brick walls, plush leather, elegant table settings, fireplaces and dim lighting. We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and were delighted when presented menus printed with “Happy Birthday” and the milestone age superimposed on them. They even said we could take them home as a souvenir. Such a thoughtful touch! Our waiter, Sam, couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. He was very friendly, informative and professional. He was also a great source of information on the menu and offered wonderful suggestions. He made us feel very special. The food was to die for! Everything we ordered was beautifully presented, cooked perfectly and amazingly delicious. The chef and kitchen staff are to be commended. The drinks were generous and made to perfection, as well. Mike does a great job of managing the place. He made sure we were satisfied with our experience and took the time to chat with us for a bit. All in all, we had a wonderful evening and highly recommend Oak Steakhouse.

We only wanted a light dinner and a few drinks. It didn’t matter. We were met with kindness and high level service. The meal was excellent, and just enough for my wife and I. Thank you for being highly reliable!

Our cocktails were great! Our appetizers and dessert were good as well. Our steaks however were very disappointing. The atmosphere was nice. Our service was also lackluster in my opinion. Overall I would say it absolutely didn’t live up to the hype and we won’t be back.

The food & service were amazing but the large parties were extremely loud. I would definitely go back but I would request to not be seated near large parties.
