Old Ashtarak is a gorgeous family-owned business located in the center of Ashtarak city. Developed using the old 19th century structure of the building, the building once belonged to a priest and was turned into a makeshift hospital during the second world war. Later, it became a winery and then a military hub during its post-soviet period before standing abandoned for 20 years. In 2016, Habib Aroyan (Canada, 2015) and his son Hovik fell in love at first sight of the building and decided to renovate the space into a vintage restaurant, bringing in more family members to run the kitchen and maintain the business. Reason to visit Old Ashtarak: 1) Great location 20 km away from Yerevan 2) Interesting history alongside the amazing nature 3) Finding an antique building which is rare nowadays
