Olla is a casual Mexican dining experience that serves quality Mexican food and cocktails with efficiency and flair. Situated on the Historic San Pedro Square in Downtown San Jose, Olla features house-made tortillas and tamales, delicious tacos and enchiladas with fresh seafood and locally sourced meats and vegetables. Fantastic experience. We came here to celebrate a birthday with a party of 10 including a 1 year old. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel like family. They helped to take a photo of our group and even rearranged the room to accomplish this task. This restaurant offers a lot of space, much bigger than I had expected. The food was delicious and catered to all in our party. We will be coming here again.

The carne asada plate and the enchiladas is to die for, also the spirits and homemade tortillas make a delicious signature. Plenty of tables, public parking across the street, take a nice stroll afterwards and you’d have a great night out.

Waitresses were not attentive. I ordered a Tostada salad the grilled chicken that smelled like fish. However they did remake my salad. had to get attention of waitresses from the start of taking our order to getting check.

The food was onsy but the service was very slow. It took 40 mins to get our appetizer. We also felt that the restaurant was too noisy.

We were a party of 6. I asked for a quiet table so our group could all hear the conversations. We got a corner table in the side room. PERFECT! We did have to ask to turn down the music a notch or two again so we could hear each other. That was accommodated as well. That was a problem the first time we were there. Food was excellent. Our friends really enjoyed their entrees. I’m sure they will go back again with their family.

We had a reservation at 8:30 am and arrived on time to find out the restaurant closed at 9 pm. We ordered everything quickly to respect the workers and get them home as soon as possible. Let’s start with service was outstanding ! Walter’s filled, drinks and food ordered quickly and he consistently checked back with us to ensure we had everything we needed. Chips and guacamole are outstanding !! Our entrees we just warm, not hot. Flavor was nice but would have liked a hotter meal. Overall good and would go back and try again !

Upon arriving to the restaurant, we noticed right anway the cosmetics of the restaurant were amazing! The atmosphere was very pleasant as well. I am not sure if the restaurant was short staffed but it did take a while for our server to arrive after seating us. Even after our whole party of 12 arrived. Nonetheless our waitress was very nice. I ordered the enchiladas and I must say they were pretty good. We also ordered 2 pitchers of margaritas. The cucumber and the guava. My favorite was the cucumber margarita. So refreshing and a must try. After dinner we went on a stroll around the area and it is centrally located and surrounded by super up beat bars and more small restaurants. We had such a blast.
