Oma's Hideaway is a vibrant, maximalist restaurant inspired by the life and spirit of Chef Thomas Pisha Duffly's grandmother, Kiong Tien “Tina” Vandenberg. Her ability to adapt, to make the most out of limited resources, and to stay creative while projecting warmth and brightness is the guiding force behind Oma’s Hideaway.

Born during the pandemic as a pop-up in the Gado Gado parking lot, Oma’s became a permanent beacon of iridescent light in Portland’s Richmond neighborhood in 2021. The menu draws from Tina’s life story, taking influence from the craveable, soul-satisfying hawker food of Singapore and Malaysia and “turning up the volume” with exaggerated yet balanced flavors in Chef Tom’s signature style. Oma’s serves dinner accompanied by a seasonal list of hand-crafted cocktails and zero-proof drinks.

Celebrate Christmas Eve with your friends and family in the warm, maximalist embrace of Oma's Hideaway. We're throwing an extra special party with a three-course feast centering around our smoked, certified Prime Angus, real-deal Prime Rib Roast with gula jawa au jus, ginger-scallion horseradish, and house chili crisp. Served alongside charcoal grilled veg and a dressed-up version of our famous salted egg yolk fries, that's just the main course! We'll also feature a lobster toast, citrus salad, and more throughout your indulgent holiday adventure with us. Take the evening off, join us for celebratory vibes, and indulge with those dearest to you.

This was our second visit to Oma's, and it won't be our last. The menu is innovative and diverse, as are the cocktails. The service is first-rate. A fun atmosphere adds to the experience.

This was my second time at Oma's Hideaway and it was great again. All of the food was very tasty and the cocktails were great too. Service was very friendly and helpful. We love this place.

I am blown away by the food, ambiance, and the service I received! It was my birthday and they not only accommodated a large party, they made sure to work with us when ordering! I also got a round of mini maitai slushies and a giant rice krispie. We ordered the whole menu (party of 7) and were full and satisfied with everything. This is definitely a new favorite of mine!

The curry fries blew my mind, and I was very excited to find the same pickled serrano peppers again on the wonton mee, as they made every bite they touched delightful. We'll definitely be back, and can't wait to try even more items!

The crew at Oma’s delivered on a super friendly, welcoming and gracious service. The menu was like a tour through parts of Asia with a dash of innovation! Blown away and will be back!

Worth the visit. Flavours great, service ideal, atmosphere cool and lively without being cacophonous. Would return and would recommend. 2% surcharge should be revisited.

The atmosphere at Oma's is fabulously eclectic and the staff is always wonderful and friendly. The food though..... INCREDIBLE! You will never taste anything quite like it and it's something dreams are made of! The egg yolk fries, corn fritters, and roti are must-haves! We bring friends there from out of town, and they talk about it for months after. You know you've found an outstanding place when people can't get it out of their heads!
