Standing out from the crowd, our 400-seater restaurant is housed in a grand Grade II listed building featuring a distinct neoclassical Greek façade and mixes an industrial look with a touch of opulence inside. Opera Grill brings theatre on a grand scale to Chester. At the heart of our menu is the theatre charcoal grill and wood-burning ovens, inspired by revered chefs and restaurants from around the world. The entertainment continues in a first-floor Music Gallery featuring a stage set for live acts every Friday, and a mix of soulful classics performed by our gospel choir every Sunday.
The distinctive spaces in Opera Grill are all available for hire for meetings, conferences and special events with bespoke menus and entertainment packages.

We have limited disabled access, the 1st floor and terrace is not wheelchair accessible.

There was a live singer and it was particularly noisy as we were seated in front of the stage. This made any conversation almost impossible. We were offered drinks at the start of the meal but not during the meal. The food was good and we were asked about allergies. However, we felt rushed; we were only in there for 45-50 minutes. The building is stunning.

Leaving this review on behalf of my parents who we bought a Gospel Sunday Lunch for a Christmas present. They said the food was lovely, the service was very good and they really enjoyed the lunch and music. We’ve eaten there lots of times and can vouch for its good food.m, but It was lovely to hear my mum and dad liked it too.

Great service and food, had the roast beef dinner, all cooked perfectly, also enjoyed the Gospel / Soul Music live band, very entertaining.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful Sunday afternoon at Opera Grill as part of our Twixtmas break. The service and food were excellent. We also enjoyed the music from an amazing soulful band playing upstairs. Service was excellent also.

WOW first impressions, the venue is fabulous. Shame the food didn’t deliver. We both ordered fillet steak. I requested well done but it turned up on the plate cremated. Dry and tough. I had hoped an establishment that has the audacity to sell a £5000 bottle of wine can differentiate between a well done and an overcooked fillet steak. My 22 year old son cooks a better steak! We ordered a Rioja to accompany our food choice. It was advertised as a young Rioja but fails to tell you it’s a Tempranillo not a Crianza. Plus it was a screw top! Very very disappointing for £40 a bottle. I’ve had better wine from Aldi. The other thing I took issue with is the offer to upgrade us to the Music Suite at cost of £62 per person. We declined the offer as this was offered with a limited ‘festive menu’. We were seated in the music suite anyway and saved ourselves an additional £100. I just felt that was a cheap shot at misleading us to think we would be getting a better experience by spending more money.
