Cocktail Lounge atop the historic Beekman Tower offering 360 views of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Ophelia offers a crafted a two-part cocktail menu featuring reinventions of classic and signature cocktails inspired by the natural elements and the glory of the lounge during its heyday in the 1920s and 30s.

Chef Ambrosio sources ingredients from local and international artisans, farmers, and fishmongers to create an elevated and refined culinary voyage. Small dishes include Maine Lobster Spring Rolls, Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras with dried cherries, Classic Caviar Service, Prime Beef Tenderloin, and Truffle Fries.

I made an reservation and arrived about 15 minutes early which allowed us to enjoy some time at the bar. The bar staff were absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, we waited 43 minutes past our scheduled time before I mentioned to the bartender that no one had come to seat us. The young lady who checked us in seemed a bit flustered at first but eventually realized she hadn’t come to get us when the table was ready. After being seated, it took a while for someone to come over for our drink orders. Once we finally got our drinks, there was another wait to place our food order. The food was fantastic, but the service needs improvement—particularly with a more reliable hostess and servers. The bar staff are doing a great job, but they can’t handle everything on their own. Overall, despite these few hiccups, our experience was fantastic, and I would definitely return!

Ophelia - A Disappointing Christmas Eve Experience I was hoping for a memorable Christmas Eve to cap off a trip to NYC with my daughters, but unfortunately, Ophelia left us wishing we had chosen anywhere else. To start, the only highlights were the stunning view and the initial impression of stepping off the elevator and seeing the bar—an ambiance that quickly faded as the experience unfolded. The food was decent, but the service and atmosphere were appalling. It took a staggering 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. When our server finally appeared, she promptly handed us off to a runner and disappeared. I had to flag down the manager just to place our food order. The restaurant was dominated by a loud, obnoxious party whose screams, cheers, and singing ruined any chance of a festive or pleasant evening. Adding insult to injury, they openly bragged about getting underage members of their group drunk. This behavior went unchecked, and it was clear the staff had no control over the situation—or worse, didn’t care. The experience was so unbearable that we ordered dessert via DoorDash before we even left. On our way down in the elevator, I spoke with another couple who shared that they’d actually walked out mid-meal despite living next door. Ophelia could have been a highlight of our holiday, but it was a complete letdown. Save your time and money; there are far better options in NYC.

A lovely rooftop bar and restaurant with gorgeous 360 degree views of New York. Went there with friends before Christmas for the holiday decor, which did not disappoint. It definitely had that snow globe effect. Had a glass of wine and a couple of appetizers - beef sliders and spinach and artichoke dip, both of which were delicious. Pricing was fairly normal for New York, which is to say, on the higher end, so be prepared. Can't wait to return when the weather gets warmer so we can sit outside on the terrace.
