Orelle is a modern French restaurant located on the 24th floor of 103 Colmore Row, situated in the heart of the city’s business district and comprises a restaurant, cocktail bar, all-day café and terrace.

The name Orelle draws inspiration from the French words for gold (or) and her (elle). It is also the name of a French mountain village.

Orelle offers 360-degree, panoramic views across the city and beyond. Open for lunch and dinner, Orelle will serve a menu featuring both classic and modern French dishes. The small but beautifully designed bar will offer both classic and innovative cocktails, all expertly crafted by some of Birmingham’s best mixologists.

Where do I start. We got taken to our table views were amazing sadly that's where it started to go wrong we were seated and left without menus or wine list for about 10 minutes looked down on the table both wine glasses were dirty with lipstick we asked them to be changed so they were taken off the another table waited for some more time before anybody came across to take our order, after order was placed which included a bottle of wine our wine glasses were removed, only one of our 2 drinks arrived then the wine was delivered after we had to ask for it, upon trying to pour it low and behold there were no wine glasses on the table. Our bread and starters seemed to come out very quickly, however when our mains arrived we had to share a pepper corn sauce as there was only one brought to the table. Our sides didn't arrive,by the time we had found someone to tell them our meals were almost finished we had 1 person telling us it went to the wrong table then another person saying they forgot ro make them. The steaks were under seasoned and the sides were even cold when they had arrived. Although free desserts were offed when the bill came after waiting 20 minutes for at over £215 the nerve to add service on is shocking, no check backs were done at any point the manager came over when we had the problem and I found him very condescending saying "well I can't to any about the past " what was meant to be our date night wasn't as special as I was hoping through basic service step errors. Very poor showing

Very disappointing. Looks like there is no more Prix Fixe menu only A La Carte which for a business lunch takes this venue out of any future equation. For two people, bread, and olives, Sirloin Steaks and two ciders the cost including an automatic charity charge, 12.5% service was an extortionate £145. One steak was requested to be well done to be told that there would be a 40 minute wait so it was changed to medium and arrived 15 minutes later......30 minutes to turn into well done? By the way the steaks were only average. This is not the Orelle it was and won't be returning.

Dear Steve, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I am sorry to hear you felt the experience fell below expectations. Regarding the set menu, as per all D&D sites it is not available during the festive period, it will however be available again from January. Our waiter advised the possible waiting time on your steak as per our standards when a guest chooses to not order a starter. Delicious food well presented but spoiled by constant attention from waiters, topping up wine too frequently. I prefer to be left to help ourselves and enjoy uninterrupted conversation.

Despite being on the menu and when they called to confirm our booking 2 days before , they had discontinued the fixed lunch menu which offers better value. The food is overpriced £44 for a steak and it was underwhelming , it was very cold in the restaurant which they commented on when we arrived that they were fixing but there was no offer of complimentary tea or coffee as a nice gesture

The Prix-Fixe lunch menu was removed from our website on October 11th, which is why it was no longer available to select during booking. I understand how frustrating this must have been, especially after the confirmation call, and I regret that we didn’t offer a suitable alternative. I also sincerely apologize for the cold temperature in the restaurant and that we did not offer a gesture such as complimentary tea or coffee.
