Orelle is a modern French restaurant located on the 24th floor of 103 Colmore Row, situated in the heart of the city’s business district and comprises a restaurant, cocktail bar, all-day café and terrace.

The name Orelle draws inspiration from the French words for gold (or) and her (elle). It is also the name of a French mountain village.

Orelle offers 360-degree, panoramic views across the city and beyond. Open for lunch and dinner, Orelle will serve a menu featuring both classic and modern French dishes. The small but beautifully designed bar will offer both classic and innovative cocktails, all expertly crafted by some of Birmingham’s best mixologists.

This restaurant is highly recommended, the food is classic as it is the view we enjoy. One good thing to note the waitress accidentally placed the wrong order of Salmon for my wife and they served it to us asking if we had any allergies while they rectified the order. This service can only be experienced in fine dining like the Orelle, and I will come to visit again soon.

A high end restaurant sitting in a high rise building with views over Birmingham. Atmospheric lights make it difficult to read the menu, some resort to using their phones to provide added light. Our service was rather slow throughout but the food was excellent, well presented, tasty and with adequate portions. Not sure if this place really knows what it wants to be. The music is very loud and intrusive, more in keeping with a bar than a restaurant

My third visit to Orelle and it never disappoints. Everything is exceptional but especially the service . Love it !

Had the set menu and it's great value. Staff are lovely- professional and attentive. Food was beautifully presented, delicious and portion size very good. Ham hock terrine, French onion soup and beetroot tartar starters all v good and tasty. Pork, chicken and salmon mains- all lovely. Then delicious Creme brulee. Cocktails are brilliant.

+ nice view + friendly, helpful staff + lovely dessert of chocolate fondant and creme brule. + nice wine, but quite expensive + good portion of chicken and well cooked broccoli - gougere were cold in the middle. A new batch was prepared which were nice and hot. - food took a very long time to come out, firstly the cold gougere, then the second batch and then the starters and mains. Surprising as the restaurant was pretty empty. - service was a hit and miss; no one was around when you needed them, to top up water for example and I had to search for someone to ask for my coffee which I had ordered with my desert but hadn't arrived, but then we were asked by about 4 different people if our main course was OK. - french onion soup tasted lovely, the portion was tiny and cold plates did not give a great dining experience - soup had to be eaten rapidly to prevent it getting cold and the gravy sized portion meant it was gone in about 30 seconds. A long wait for that. - the restaurant was freezing cold (on one of the coldest January nights). We were told there was a problem with the heating and were given desserts on the house. With the cost of the wine and the service charge, it feels overpriced overall for the standard of food and service. I guess you're paying for the view, which is a great backdrop, especially at night, and the nice decor.

Restaurant is a triumph of style over function! The room is beautiful, the views are without compare and the service is professional and efficient. The food is of good quality. The beef tartare was excellent and the best course of the meal. The ham hock was good and meaty and served with a slice of toast. Even with pickles this was very dry and a small pat of butter or more ham jelly is needed to lubricate the course. The vegetables in general were well handled and had a good flavour and texture. The protein was less carefully cooked. The chicken breast was overcooked, dry and with a hard brown finish which was difficult to cut. The porc or pork had a thick cap (1-2 centimeters) of fat which was not rendered. This was most unpleasant. It covered the whole of the portion so the leftovers were substantial and were ignored by the waiting staff. That shows a lack of care and interest in the customer and also misses a chance for helpful feedback. The meat itself was good and flavoursome. Finally, both the main courses were heavily oversalted. This is such a disappointment for a great venue. Let's hope the chef was absent for some reason and this was an aberration.

My partner and I went to Orelle in Birmingham to celebrate a special occasion. We had an incredible experience, from being welcomed at the door, throughout the meal and on leaving. The cocktails, food and wine were high quality, and the service was also excellent. The ambience and the view are very special indeed. We will return there again.

We came here for our anniversary and it was amazing. The food was unreal. The staff were very attentive, polite, and extremely professional. The restaurant was immaculate. 100% will be visiting again and recommending to anyone who will listen!
