Experience a modern twist to traditional tapas with globally inspired shareable dishes.

Oveja Negra, translated as “Black Sheep” in Spanish is offering a menu of “unruly tapas.” Our culinary team is “going against the grain” of this deep-rooted Spanish tradition to offer the curious diner a menu representing globally inspired recipes with a tapas flair. The menu will vary by season with flavorful and unique ingredients sourced from around the world, adding an international twist to your dining experience.

                                                                        Werecently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant on Santana Row. My husband discovered it by chance, and we were surprised to find it empty during Saturday brunch, given its exceptional qualities. The food, location, and service were all outstanding. However, I was struck by the lack of signage both outside and inside the building. As a business owner myself, I'm puzzled by this lack of visibility for such a wonderful place. I believe this restaurant deserves to be discovered and enjoyed by many more people.

                                                                        Food was great, nice little spot tucked in the hotel. Taking away 1 star as the menu online isn’t accurate as to what they offered for Breakfast. Another star for inaccurate brunch hours. Regarding noise level, I understand that it may not be too busy at the time, (we got there at 945 for breakfast, only 2 tables occupied) and I’m all for a happy work environment but the laughter and chatter coming from the kitchen was a bit excessive.

                                                                        I had the pleasure of dining at Oveja Negra during my stay at the Hotel Valencia, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. I made a reservation and was greeted warmly upon arrival. The service throughout the evening was impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. The food was phenomenal. I started with the octopus, which was perfectly tender and flavorful. The sea bass was equally impressive, cooked to perfection with a beautiful balance of textures and flavors. To finish, the rice pudding was simply divine—rich, creamy, and the perfect end to a fantastic meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was elegant and inviting, adding to the overall experience. It was the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger and savor every moment. I absolutely loved my evening at Oveja Negra and will definitely return the next time I’m in town. Highly recommended!

                                                                        I was really looking forward to having a fabulous meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was awful and we left after a glass of wine and appetizers. Between the three of us we ate a few bites of the meat platter, chorizo omelette, beet salad, and patatas. It’s a beautiful restaurant, I just wished the food was better.

                                                                        Restaurant could not accept credit card, only cash, due to technical problems that should have been addressed somehow. Entrees were served immediately after the appetizer instead of allowing sufficient time to consume the appetizer. Entrees were adequate in size and taste, but the appetizer (cold cuts) was laughably minuscule for the price of $24.
