We ate dinner on the top floor with a party of 4.The wagyu steaks were perfect and the wedge salad was terrific. The girls had sea bass which was excellent.I had crab cakes as they don't offer shrimp any more. I wouldn't recommend the crab cakes. We all were disappointed in the view from the top. The first thing you see is the roof of the convention center,then the trailer park. Off in the distance is the Manatee river and Rt 41 traffic. You're definitely high off the ground but I would never have spent the millions to build that structure in that location. It is a very beautiful hotel built in the wrong town.

This is our first time to try the oyster river and we do understand it is relatively new. The food was delicious and had a nice presentation. We ordered the carpaccio, a wagyu fillet, oysters Rockefeller, seafood fettuccine and the bisque and lobster Mak n cheese. We knew it would be pricey because of the view and it being a hotel restaurant. Everything was tasty except the Mak and cheese which they took off the bill. The service was good, but could use a little polishing for the price point you’re paying. We’re so happy to have this new addition in our community and will return and wish them to be very successful.

The views were beautiful at sunset! Service was great, however the atmosphere was very loud in the smaller space making it very difficult to hear the backstory or specials the staff went over. The dishes were not bad, I just wouldn’t go out of my way to eat again, especially for the price. The wagyu filet was cooked perfectly, but the meat was bland in taste.The mushroom risotto and the Brussel sprouts were uneventful in flavor as well. Overall it’s was an experience, but not one that I would frequent again.

We sat at the bar which was very comfortable. Two of us shared the small fresh seafood tower for 2. It was excellent! We followed up with the lobster bisque which was a piece of art & like nothing I had ever seen before. My husband had the Caesar salad which was beautiful as well. We also shared a lobster Mac & Cheese that could have served 4. - all were very good. A treat for sure as prices are high. Enjoy!

First time dining at Oyster River. The entire Marriott Resort is very impressive. It was evident they hadn’t been open very long and are working through opening challenges. The employees are extremely professional and seemed to understand menu items and did a nice job explaining. Food quality was disappointing and I hope it’s just reflective of start up challenges. Food items we ordered included Chilean Sea Bass, quite small serving but very tasty, lobster bisque was extremely disappointing relative to taste, portion size and presentation. Brussel sprouts were outstanding, highly recommend. Lastly we had the Crab Cake which too was outstanding. Prices were a bit on the excessive side but to be expected at this type of venue. Bottom line is we will be back and give them further time to work out opening issues.
