The food was average, despite a wide variety of options. Unfortunately, many of the dishes seemed overpriced for what they offered. Having dined at exceptional establishments worldwide, we found nothing here remarkable enough to justify the price point. While great service can often elevate an experience, the service here fell short. Our server seemed more engaged in conversation with a coworker than attending to our table, forcing us to stand and request the check—a simple wave should have sufficed. It was especially disappointing given that we were her only table in an otherwise practically empty restaurant. There were no drink refills, no attentiveness, and certainly no sense of urgency or precision.
Regrettably, I would not be inclined to return, as there are superior dining options nearby at this price point. To compete, the restaurant might consider adding a few different entrees to the menu, rethinking appetizers (the mac and cheese, though flavorful, would work better as a shareable side, as seen in most steakhouses), and training staff to deliver service befitting a high-end establishment. I think this is really what made it a bad experience. When service misses the market, there’s nothing the kitchen can do that would make it ok. We were really agitated.
That said, the ambiance is stunning, and the flavor profiles were pleasant on most items we tried. However, for the upscale niche this restaurant aims to occupy, more refinement is needed to truly stand out. Seemless service, and some tweaks to the menu could make this place really soar.
