Welcome to Pera Islington!

Pera Mediterranean brings an authentic taste & hospitality of eastern Mediterranean cuisine to London’s Islington.
Pera derives its name from an elegant neighborhood in Istanbul (Officially known as Beyoğlu) that has served as the melting pot for many cultures and cuisines since the 17th century. Husband (Head Chef) and Wife (Restaurant Manager) team from Turkey are collaboratively introducing lesser known mezes and meat preparations to a London audience. Pera features numerous mezes, specially prepared and marinated cuts of grilled meats and seafood, traditional and modern Mediterranean side dishes and regional breads baked a la minute.Guests can choose from a variety of different cuts of lamb, beef and chicken, or opt for lighter options from the lunch menu featuring assorted servings of house specialities.

            With feta and fresh herbs served with mixed salad

            • Aubergine Shakshuka

              Fried aubergine, olive oil, lemon juice & garlic with mixed salad mixed pepper with special homemade tomato sauce

              • Grilled Lamb Kulbasti

                Marinated boneless grilled lamb pieces. Served with rice, chips & salad

                • Chicken Iskender

                  Grilled chicken shish with special tomato sauce, pitta bread, greek yoghurt, topped with chili butter

                  • Grilled Lamb Chops

                    3 pieces lamb chops. Served with rice, chips & salad

                    • Mix Grill

                      1 stick of chicken shish, 2 grill kofte, 1 piece lamb cutlet. Served with rice, chips & salad

                      • Lamb Iskender

                        Grilled lamb kofte with special tomato sauce, pitta bread, greek yoghurt, topped with chilli butter

                        • Grilled Chicken Shish

                          Marinated chicken cubes grilled over charcoal. Served with rice chips & salad

                            Layered vegatables roasted in tomato sauce topped with bechamel sauce and cheddar cheese. Served with rice, chips & salad

                                You could ask for a friendlier local restaurant. Food was spot on and I really enjoyed the mixed grill. Recommendations of Turkish beer and wine were both excellent. Vegetarians are well looked after as well - my sister was delighted. And we rounds off the evening with a great gig by Tge Sweet at the Assembly Hall across the road.

                                Restaurant was welcoming and service was great. All made to feel part of the ‘family’. Food was well presented and tasted great. Will definitely being going back!

                                The food was delicious, really good portion sizes too. The service was perfect, not intrusive at all; we felt able to relax and dine at our own pace.

                                Lovely restaurant - first time going there. We were the only diners but the staff were charming and attentive. The food is very good - the grilled lamb was as good as I have ever had. Great evening.
