We decided last minute to go out to dinner on New Year Eve. Fortunately, PF Changs had reservations available for our time slot. When we arrived, the hostess was very kind, and we did not have to wait long to be seated. Once seated, our waitress immediately approached us to take our drink order.
To start off we decided to order some drinks right away and a couple of appetizers. The apprizers came out quickly and way before our drinks. It took close to 20 minutes before our drinks hit the table. The waitress approached us a couple of times and apologized for the wait. After finishing our appetizers and first round, we ordered dinner.
Waiting to order was a huge mistake. It took well over an hour before we received our meals. It came to a point where we questioned leaving and canceling our order, but we decided to stick it out. We ordered the honey garlic chicken and Mongolian chicken. The Mongolian chicken was perfect, and the plate was cleared (with no leftovers)! However, the honey garlic chicken was way off. It tasted like honey GINGER chicken (I hate ginger) as the dish had a strong ginger profile. I ordered this meal a dozen times, and it never tasted like ginger.
Knowing the kitchen was super backed up, we decided not to say anything. The waitress was clearly frustrated that the food from the kitchen was not coming out fast enough, and we didn't want to burden her further. Instead, we didn't eat it, we packed it up, and took it home.
While the service was excellent, and we enjoyed our time, the food took forever and was not made correctly. Unfortunately, this is the third time in a row we have eaten here and had issues with the timing and accuracy of the food. It will be a while before we go back.
