I entered the lowest levels because you gave no other option to address my concern.
I made a reservation on OpenTable for Piccolina for 11/19/24 at 7:15 for 2. OpenTable confirmed my reservation. My wife came downtown from Chevy Chase, MD to meet me. When I met her at the restaurant, the staff told me they were closed because they had just hosted a private event and were cleaning up.
We walked across to Centrolina and had dinner there. That was not where we had planned to go, and we wound up spending much more for dinner than we would have spent at Piccolina -- $215 vs $135. That's not acceptable! Imagine if I had a larger party!
I don't know whether the fault lies with OpenTable or Piccolina, but it certainly shakes my confidence in booking through OpenTable. I'd appreciate hearing your explanation. And I would hope that, to make up for the extra $80 we had to spend for dinner, either (1) OpenTable will deposit dining points in my account equal to $80 or (2) Piccolina or OpenTable will issue a gift card to us for use at the restaurant in the amount of $80. Thank you.
