Awful experience. Had booked for 4 people at 5pm on a Saturday, as we were due at a show for 8pm. One of the starters was the wrong order, so two of us had eaten ours before the other arrived. Then had to wait 1hr 40mins until the main courses arrived. Again, 2 of us had finished eating before the other two meals arrived (both salads!). The pizza went down well, but the spaghetti carbonara was a very small portion.
We were on the point of leaving, but then the salads finally arrived. One member of staff told us the delay was due to the fact that one of our party had a fish allergy, so they were “cooking” hers in a separate part of the building. Another said they had to clean the entire kitchen because of the allergy. Not sure which version is true, if either, but a bit excessive for a mozzarella salad.
When the salads finally arrived, the mozzarella salad looked pitiful on the plate and was definitely not worth the wait or the £14.95 price tag!
The food, what there was of it, was tasty, but not value for money, and the service was terrible. Personally, I think they forgot us. If it means waiting longer while they take precautions over allergies, surely they would explain that up front. However, if they have to clean down the kitchen every time someone has an allergy, no one would ever get served!
Having complained a couple of times during the meal, the staff did the decent thing and didn’t charge us for the salads, but we were left disappointed by the experience and a bad taste in our mouths. We won’t be going again.
