I can’t believe I’m going to say these things about one of our if not our very most favorite restaurants. This is the second time we made a reservation and when arrived in time, were made to wait over 15 minutes for our table. Our reservation was at 8:15. The restaurant was bulging with people both waiting and seated. We were told we could sit at the bar (which there were obviously no seats available,) or go next door to the other restaurant to wait. My family all noticed the host wasn’t particularly friendly about it and unashamedly unapologetic. At least perhaps the offer of a glass of wine or something would have softened the blow of standing around. When seated, our waiter had an attitude. This was disappointing after already waiting uncomfortably and in the past we had such positive experiences. When we got our first item, zucchini, it was prepared oddly, which we sent back. It was served cold. Soon after we received our appetizers, the server came over and quickly said this was last call and the kitchen was closing. What? We hadn’t even received our second course (pizza). I asked about dessert and he said that would be possible. I said it was too bad that we got seated so late after our reservation time because this was rushed. He replied harshly that this was it, and the kitchen was “Fini” for the night. We couldn’t believe his rudeness. After that, one of the other servers who seemed to be assisting, Alfonso, was very warm and nice and made us feel at home. Overall, the food was good, but not as good as other times. Perhaps they were all worn out. We shared pane bianca, which is always delicious, and sweet potatoes, both were luck warm and not as fresh tasting as usual. My husband had the chop salad, which he liked, and My son and I shared a pizza, also good. I asked the waiter for a red wine recommendation, and he recommended the most expensive one ($30 cabernet), and did not offer a taste. Will be back, but……
