The Plough retains all of its charm & warmth of welcome for both regulars and visitors alike. Located on the main street in the village of Ellington, this impressive old coaching inn offers something for everyone.

Our menus serve the best of local and traditional pub food. Featuring reworked classic English dishes with creative and tasty touches, you owe it to yourself to try one of our delicious meals.

We also pride ourselves on having a great drinks range! There’s a selection of local and regional ales, ciders and a number of our favourite wines. You won’t be disappointed!

We were attentively waited on. Food was extremely good. We had Sunday lunch. The only downside was the roast potatoes were the frozen kind. However the homemade yorkshire puddings made up for this. I would definitely recommend the apple and raspberry crumble. This was delicious. Staff were very welcoming and waited on our every need. Will definitely be returning

I booked for 3 adults & 2 children, warm welcome, table was ready Service was excellent from start to finish , food plentiful & fresh vegetables, had the roast beef it was delicious. We will be back definitely

Booked for Sunday dinner while in the area, food was outstanding, I am quite picky with dinners out and this was the best I have had in a long time. Dessert of crumble and custard was the best. Would make the 45 minute journey for dinner again without a doubt!

We visited the pub for Sunday lunch after recommendations from a colleague - we were not disappointed! Service from the start was welcoming and friendly, food was served quickly but it was all freshly made to order and was outstanding. Roast potatoes were divine and my daughter, who is incredibly fussy, said it was the best Sunday dinner she’d had! We’ll be back soon to try the weekday menu as well.
