Pat 'Pops' Newland has been serving authentic British fish and chips in London since 1945, and from this he has recreated a restaurant serving one of Britain's best-loved dishes in a friendly setting, surrounded by authentic 1940s/50s memorabilia lovingly curated by Pops himself.
Our menu includes sustainably-caught mouth-watering fresh fish cooked in crunchy batter, served with golden chips and classic mushy peas, prepared on the premises by our onsite fishmonger.
You can also try the seafood platter, pies, chicken, or traditional east end classics like jellied eels, followed by traditional, indulgent English desserts such as sticky toffee pudding and apple pie. Drinks vary from fruit juices and traditional ginger ale, to carefully-picked wines and locally-sourced beers.
My rating was due to the fact that I couldn’t eat anything. I’m lactose intolerant and the only option was the fish with a salad that wasn’t available that night. The service was ok but unfortunately they couldn’t help me. So, I just drink something. Everything is cooked with butter so pay attention if you have an intolerance like mine. I was a little bit disappointed that there was just an option I could choose. I hope they will add something else :)

Well welcome , we were well advised by a pleasant waiter in this typical fish and chips . The interior design of the restaurant is vintage .

Bit disappointed this time! We are long-term fans of Poppies Soho, but this time we felt prices were up, portion sizes were down, the food didn't seem freshly cooked, and our end of the restaurant had quite a few fruit flies buzzing around.
