Well, we had quite the experience on out latest night at Poseidon... we had a 6:30 reservation for six. We arrived at about 6:15 and were told we should have a table in a few minutes. At 6:30 we were told that we would have a choice between two high tops or jam into a booth in the bar area. Meanwhile there is an empty standard table set up for eight in the main dining area. We asked if we could use that table and were told that it was reserved for a larger group. We declined the booth as it would have been uncomfortable, and said we would wait for a table to clear. Twenty minutes go by and nothing has cleared, so we inquired about the still empty table in the main dining area. we were told we could not use it. At 7:00, we agreed to take the high tops, and they were set up for us. Not the best, but we were just looking to be seated at this point. We were greeted by our server and were told that the prime rib was only available at medium-well and well done as a cook did not here the timer. there goes option one for half of our party! We ordered a couple of appetizers and some drinks and were on our way. Meanwhile the table in the main dining areas, you guessed it - still empty. We eventually ordered or entrees and thought we were good to go. One of our meals, option two, was a salmon Cesare salad. the server returned to let my friend know that there was no salmon and no romaine lettuce - option two was no longer in play. My friend went to option three, the seared sea scallops - order placed. Our server then returns a few minutes later to let us know that they were also out of scallops! Unbelievable at this point... Option four was the flounder and we were on our way to our meal. It is now about 7:30 and I looked over to the main dining area and the table that was not available to us at 6:30 is just being occupied. Anyway, we eventually enjoyed our dinners, but it took quite a bit to get there. It will be a while before we are back at Poseidon.
