The restaurant itself is beautiful, the chairs are comfortable, lighting is good. Music could’ve been a bit quieter. Service was fineAlthough she did mention to me twice “did you know where a BYO?“ and I felt scolded by her. I had told her we didn’t have time to grab wine.We opted for the three courses I had escargot scallops and the pumpkin crème brûlée. My boyfriend got the wild mushroom French onion, soup, braise, short rib, ribs, and the pecan pie. Overall, I think the restaurant is just trying too hard- it came off presumptuous. The escargot were not hot, they were dry and just overall had too much going on on the plate. Boyfriend‘s braised short ribs were so overpowered with the flavor of tomato paste. Any good cook knows you have to cook/roast out the bitterness of tomato paste by roasting it for a few mins. The preparation on this just felt Rushed. Not to mention my boyfriend finished his entire meal in about four bites. The portion sizes were very small. My scallops were cooked well, but was definitely missing a starch or a sauce or some type of richness brought to the dish. It was six medium sized scallops over top asparagus with 4 pieces of zucchini coins breaded and fried. The zucchini tasted like straight olive oil. Again, rookie food preparation. Spending $200+ for dinner here made me ill. There are a dozen restaurants I could’ve spent less and left satisfied and happy. We will not be back. I’ll summarize by saying we stopped and picked up a pizza on the way home….it was that bad.
