Our four diners are residents of Marco. Cute place. The bar and front dining room was a little bright. They are describing themselves as fine dining. There is definitely a more casual feel to the place. We were seated in the back corner so noise was not a problem. With 7:00 reservations there were only 3 other tables in our dining room. They have just opened and once the season kicks in I’m sure it will be ‘the normal’ busy. Three of us had the gumbo and liked it. All three added hot sauce. Two of us had the ribs. They were good flavored. One rack was a little dry but another was moist as they should be. The potato salad had a vinegar taste and the potatoes were slightly under cooked. One of us liked it the other 3 were not fans. The coleslaw, also vinegar based, had good flavor. One of us had the chicken sandwich and everyone who tried it really liked it. Finally one of us had the ‘Steaktini’ It came out medium rare as promised. The steak was fine, nothing special but the mash potatoes and gravy great! We ordered the pecan pie to share for dessert. It was disappointing, would not order it again. It was served warm and the ice cream scoop was almost 2x’s the size of the pie. All four of us didn’t even finish it, just not very good. Cost was a little pricey but so is all of Marco. Overall we’d try the restaurant again. They said they are coming out with an expanded menu so we’d be excited to try different entrees. Probably a 7 out of 10. Wouldn’t race back but will definitely go back.
