Welcome to Pueo’s Osteria, an Italian-inspired, inviting restaurant that provides great food, prepared from scratch daily, complimented with a stocked wine list and set in a delightful osteria environment. Co-Proprietor & Chef James Babian focuses on original creative dishes, pairing the finest, authentic Italian products with select seafood, produce and meats from boutique farms (sourced locally whenever possible), including “farm-fresh” products from local farmers’ markets.
Pueo's is located at the new Waikoloa Plaza in Waikoloa Village with ample free parking and designated pick-up stalls right outside the restaurant.
The "Pueo" is a nocturnal owl indigenous to Hawaii, which symbolizes Chef's focus on serving dinner and into the evening hours. Pueo's Osteria caters to locals and visitors via sit-down, bar and take-out. Engaging service, approachable pricing, great flavors and a lively atmosphere await at Pueo’s Osteria – food, wine & fun … "where the night owls meet."

    Aloha! Join us for Valentine's Day, we are offering a special $99 three course prix fixe menu for all dine-in guests. We will not be serving our regular dinner menu this evening. Our bar will offer the prix fixe menu and the bar menu and is "first come, first serve." All dinner reservations will require a credit card to complete the reservation.     Had a great experience at Pueo's Osteria! They were super accommodating when I needed to adjust our reservation last minute, even though they were fully booked. The food was amazing—the Hamakua Mushroom Bianco pizza was creamy and savory, and the Tagliatelle alla Ragu Bolognese was rich and delicious. They even asked if we wanted the kids' food served first, which was a thoughtful touch. It was the perfect spot to celebrate our parents' wedding anniversary. Highly recommend!

    One of the best Italian dinners outside of Italy. The focaccia was delicious and served warm. Entrees and dessert were delicious. We sat on the patio in the lovely evening sunset. We will be back!

    Pretty uneven. A couple dishes were outstanding (short rib pizza and kale salad) and a couple really fell flat (cannelloni and boar tagliatelle). Prices quite high for a strip mall location and the somewhat disinterested service and settings; and then a 3% service fee for credit card use? Give me a break. Build it into your costs or absorb it like everyone else does.

    Top tier Italian food with lovely sunset views. A bit hazy this evening but still a great outing. Homemade pastas and creative chef specials. Cozy bar looked very inviting. Our meals were prompt and delicious. Highly recommend everything on the menu.

    Amazing food! We loved every dish that we shared around the table with our 4 person party. Mouth-watering octopus and crab cakes, and pasta dishes, fresh fish catch and lobster tail. A perfect way to welcome in the New Year! Mahalo!!
