The Quay Inn is set right on the the quay at Wareham overlooking the river Frome, and has been welcoming patrons since it was built in 1747.

In addition to a fantastic array of high-quality local ales, beers, and refreshments, we offer mouth-watering food menus featuring the unique Black Rock grill, along with a variety of traditional snacks and meals.     The Black Rock Grill is a unique, delicious, healthy interactive dining experience that allows your meal to be presented cooking on the volcanic rocks at your table. You can enjoy a meal freshly prepared and cook it to your personal taste whether it’s rare, medium or well done. The Black Rock Grill method of dining uses super heated rock that sears in all the natural juices, flavours and nutrients. This guarantees a taste that is unique to Black Rock Grill dining. For the perfect Black Rock Grill experience, simply cut one or two bite size portions off your chosen meal and lay them on the rock to sear and cook to your liking. All served with rustic chips or jacket potato and a fresh dressed salad.

    I would usually give 5 stars but last night was a little disappointing due to the portion of the side orders eg onion rings , half size pot of sauce, same again with the mushrooms in a small dish. All the side orders were poor value for money. We had to ask twice for our side orders to arrive. The staff were friendly and polite as usual. Hope this is a one off as I absolutely enjoy steak night

    Came for our usual steak and chicken on the hot plates. Chicken, duck and prawns are no longer an option with the only option other than a steak being a mushroom wellington which wasn’t on the buy one get one for a pound deal. Otherwise I could have a load of starters which wasn’t more expensive than the mushroom wellington. This meant that what would have been a £30 meal now was double. We just had our drinks and went elsewhere. Waitress was very apologetic and very friendly but won’t be going again unless there is more options back on the hot rock deal

    One of the best steaks around. We have been here many times and are never disappointed. The chefs seem to know just how we like them cooked and they come with loads of goodies. Well done team.

    A great treat out with our great nephews and niece over half-term. A new experience for them which they thoroughly enjoyed. Great value for money and as always delicious food and friendly service. Thank you

    I meet my daughter for breakfast at the Quay Inn partly because it is half way between where we both live but mainly because the breakfasts are amazing and the service is good.

    Booked at the last minute for a Sunday evening, food was lovely but as it was late in the day they had run out of roast potatoes and one of the meats. However service was good, friendly atmosphere - a good find!
