    First time here…menu looked great! We had the deviled eggs which were so good, steak tartare, caviar on a chip….everything was excellent. My husband loved the French onion soup and the blackened salmon with cheese grits…so freaking delicious!! Our server, Carly, was friendly, gave us recommendations on the menu and the cocktails ( which were also great), and made our experience 100 times better. Will definitely be back again.

    Had a wonderful dinner (awful date) but the food and ambience absolutely outshined the circumstances. Stellar cuisine, on point service, friendly, happy staff and patrons. Overall, top-notch everything. Casey and his team really put together an excellent slice of a true blue NOLA experience in the heart of AP. C'est bon!

    We made a reservation at the bar for a good view of the band. R Bar has great music programming. Service and food were excellent.

    Had a great time at R Bar. Food was great (try the gumbo). Live music created a great atmosphere, and the service from Maggie at the bar was phenomenal!

    It was a cold January Wednesday night, only a few people at the restaurant, but we were welcomed by the friendly staff and quickly felt cozy and warm. For apps we had the perfectly seasoned chicken wings and a Caesar salad with crispy quinoa…nice touch. Entrees included the salmon filet with cheese grits topped with parsley & fennel, a seared pork chop with a loaded potato (substituted the mashed), and finally the Mushroom Étouffée, which is a vegan dish with rice and Cajun Seasoning. No dessert, but a round of warm & sweet after-dinner drinks was perfect.

    New Years Day brunch. Bloody Mary’s were tasty and the French Onion soup was fantastic. Had the short rib French dip. French fries were hot, crispy and fresh. The sandwich was tasty but would have liked a little more meat to go with the bread. The Au Jus was tasty and complimented the sandwich well. Will look forward to going back to try other menu items.

    The food has a New Orleans inspiration and the entire team at R Bar makes this restaurant awesome. Sitting downstairs is great and upstairs is fun on a sunny day.

    What a terrific way to ring in 2025. Delicious fixed menu and a lively band to celebrate the holiday. We love R BAR all year long and we are very happy we chose to be here on 12/31.

    One of the BEST restaurants in Asbury Park especially for its New Orleans vibe! The crab cake beignets and French onion soup are always our go-to appetizers! Warm welcomes when you arrive always! The owners and team make you feel like you’re coming to their home, always smiling and very welcoming! The food is seasoned perfectly, and the food presentation makes dining a true experience! We love the New Orleans band The Ocean Avenue Stompers who plays there frequently, the horns are fantastic! Can’t wait to go back again; we had a great time celebrating New Year’s Eve! You’ll love everything about Rbar!
