Just by Liverpool Street station, Rake’s is ideal to escape the city.

Whether you come for cocktails, lunch, or a bar snack, you will be hosted by our team of individual characters - all with a love of wine, food and cocktails and ready to welcome you in our three distinct areas.

The Front Room – a garden-influenced space, home to varying local DJs from Thursday to Saturday nights;
The Parlour – a sophisticate yet casual lounge area;
The Orgy – our hidden room, perfect for your private gatherings.

Come as you are - there is no formality, no rules.

Service very poor. Unattentative staff. Not asked if food was OK. Not offered sauces. No butter for toast. Just felt a bit abandoned! Also bacon needed to be cooked more

Food was noting to write home about but the cocktails were decent. Service very patchy, such as trying to take glasses which were half full, and then not coming to the able at all for ages. That said the venue is nice and the amosphere was buzzy

Good atmosphere, nice drinks. Door staff were unnecessarily confrontational when each of my three friends arrived after me (they weren’t on the door when I arrived), which was weird. Staff were friendly and professional but we had to wait to get their attention each time we were ready for another drink. We probably would have had time for another round if they had been more proactive about asking if we wanted more drinks.

Weird service last night. We had to ask to order drinks every time we wanted drinks. We had to ask to order food - ask for menus in order to order the food (?!) Food seemed fine but one of our party is now ill. She had the ragu. Just a massive letdown last night, we were generally ignored for most of the evening.

We had a lovely breakfast at Rake’s Cafe. It was delicious and the service was great. We were celebrating a birthday and it started the day off brilliantly!

The restaurant advertised having an all day menu but when we arrived early for our table we could only have off the Brunch menu since they said 5.30 for main menu which was very disappointing.

Unfortunately the music volume and constant bass beats made it extremely difficult to hear one another at our table and to be able to have a relaxed conversation. We asked for the volume to be lowered but this could not be accommodated. This would unfortunately put me off coming again.

It was such a terrible experience. The hostess and waitress were being rude and unhelpful. I had reserved a table specifically in the front room and was led to the back room lounge area when there was visible space available in the front. The oxtail pasta made everything worse by being absolutely horrid. Came out cold AND hurt my stomach after, I don’t even know what they put in that. Grossly overpriced food and drink for the horrible quality. On top of everything, I reserved here specifically for my birthday and even messaged the restaurant through OpenTable multiple times to let them know and never received any type of response. I will never be coming back and I hope nobody wastes their time even looking at this place.

Amazing afternoon but was disappointed there was no Sunday brunch options and the overall price was much more than expected. But I did enjoy myself and for a one off treat it's worth it.
