                                                            Ramsay’s Kitchen at The Silver Legacy – $300 Lesson in Regret Booked months ahead for a private booth for two. Arrived on time, greeted by two teenagers who clearly hated their lives. Asked about the booth—got, “We’ll do what we can.” Translation? *No booth for you.* The Scene: 15 minutes later, we’re seated at a tiny table crammed so tight I thought we’d be asked to share food. Add nightclub-level noise, and I suddenly wished I’d brought earplugs and a Xanax. The Food: Started with a beet salad—the only decent dish. Then came: - Chicken that tasted like it lost a fight. - An 8oz sirloin topped with what looked like a chef’s apology note disguised as garnish. - Brussel sprouts so salty they could cure meat. Left them untouched. The Service: The assistant server? Great. The main server? Lost. Asked for an organic Pinot Noir, and she looked like I’d asked her to split the atom. The Closer: Enter Mr. Bow Tie, a “manager” making rounds to seem useful. He wasn’t. Politely asked him to buzz off. The Verdict: $300 later, I left wishing I’d just gone to In-N-Out. This isn’t fine dining; it’s a fine disaster. One star—for the beet salad. Never again.

                                                            Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in the Silver Legacy does have delicious food. The Beef Wellington and goat cheese salad were both very tasty. The service was also Excellent. Our server, Lisa, was engaging and accommodative of our requests. However, with Steakhouse prices the ambience is too casual (think no table cloths and a restaurant setting in a noisy Casino). It’s not the best place for an intimate dinner. We may go back, however, to try their Prime Rib which is served with a traditional Popover.

                                                            The Seafood was not great. Although my husband's beef wellington was good. We were seated looking at the casino walkway, people were walking right by us, which was not a great ambiance for an anniversary dinner. I feel like they could have blocked off the casino with a glass wall to help with the atmosphere. The cigarette smoke was not great, but I guess that is what one gets for eating in a casino. The first round of drinks that we had were good, the second came out strong and one of the glasses was sticky. For what we were paying for you would think that it would have been better. The service staff were great but all in all a disappointing night out. :(

                                                            Over all it was very good. There was 5 of us and the bill was cheaper than i was expecting. The food was good and our waiter PJ was very nice. We always had water and never ran out.

                                                            Well we tried this restaurant again. Last time was right after it opened and there were a ton of service issues. We figured by now the kinks would be worked out and some were. The bar was quicker this time. But we were made to feel so uncomfortable. We were a party of 4 and decided to share two salads, two appetizers and two entrees. All of the items arrived to the table at the same time. When I told the expediters from the kitchen that we wanted salads and appetizers first, the server came over and said he was sorry but this is how I ordered it, saying I said I ordered and asked for all items at once. Fine, we would take all the Items. Then the server walked over to another server and then later our bus person and loudly said I ordered it that way. Lastly the server took the manager aside and told her I ordered it that way. We had already accepted the food being delivered at one time and didn’t make a big deal about it. We were so uncomfortable hearing him repeatedly state it was our fault for ordering everything to arrive all at once. The food was good but for $400 I would hope for a little better service. Instead of repeatedly stating what I did wrong, maybe the server could have said “sorry I should have asked how you wanted it to come out” or similar. We would have enjoyed our salad and appetizers first as our entrees were cold-ish by the team we ate them. Probably going to skip eating at The Kitchen in Reno- the Vegas one is great though, excellent service and a great tasting menu.

                                                            Very, Very disappointing He may have high standards on the show but not in his fish and chips or restaurant. Wellington was well done Crab cake was room temp 1 Dessert was just terrible Very noisy We spent over $500 for 2 and both have had far better experiences for far less We were going to give Hell's Kitchen in Tahoe a try when we are up there in Jan but have decided to pass on it, we will make reservations at a higher end restaurant. I would say we each got $25 meals
