Dining at RED O is an experience like no other that offers a unique combination of Prime Steak and Seafood with Rick Bayless’ signature Mexican inspired influences. With sustainably sourced and local ingredients, RED O creates flavorful dishes true to the authentic flavors of Mexico. RED O’s team of friendly employees creates a welcoming atmosphere that parallels the luxury resort interior of the restaurant. RED O also features an impressive bar and lounge where you’ll find specialty cocktails, an extensive tequila list and an award winning wine list. The bar also offers Happy Hour from 3-6 p.m. daily and Late Night Happy Hour from 10-12am Tuesday-Saturday.

    Unfortunately the food was not as good as anticipated. The sauces to the enchiladas are sweet which was not a taste the group was going for. The lobster and steak was pleasing. We also ordered drinks at the bar prior to being seated. We later learned that we were over charged for the drinks at the bar.

    As always, food was great, our server Tomas was super and the ambiance was a bit dead this time around. We are used to Sundays at Red O during summer time with the live DJ playing upbeat music. This time around it was very quiet. Regardless of that detail, we had a great time!!

    It is always tasty! The staff is friendly and the good is delicious! We had Great Chilean sea bass and ribeye.

    We had not been to the Red O in Newport for years. We tried it for lunch today and it was excellent! The food was excellent and the service was great. The decor is the biggest downfall, very strange for plant/flower arrangements that give a creepy feeling. But the food was great!

    I wanted to like this place. The ambiance and decor is really lovely and cool but the rest of the experience fell pretty flat for our party. Made a reservation for Sunday at 11am, party was seated 15 minutes later which I thought was odd considering that's when the restaurant opens. Server was pretty forgetful throughout the meal. Forgot one guest's drink, we had to ask for salt/pepper twice, and asked for a hot water refill on a tea that never came. I will say the food came out super quickly but unfortunately was extremely bland and covered in way too much crema and cotija. No one at our table finished our meals or wanted it to go. The restaurant did seem incredibly busy and appeared to be one private party so maybe they were understaffed today. Would I consider going back? Maybe for the more expanded lunch or dinner menu but definitely not for brunch. It was a miss for me.

    Absolutely terrible service. Came here with some work colleagues. Server took our order, food came out and the guy disappeared. No one came by for any additional drinks, never showed up to ask for dessert or coffee, just dropped off the bill. Finally shows up to collect the money with a Red Robin style payment method showing the bill to all the guests. What the f&$k. Good decor, high noise, no music, low grade food (ordered the lamb with mole and besides the meat that was not the right temperature, the rest of the plate looked like sick on a plate with under cooked vegetables). We take our customers out every week and Javier’s is much better hands down. This restaurant is off our list permanently.
