For our 36th anniversary, we chose to return to Rene at Tlaquepaque for the second consecutive year. The decision was effortless, given the exceptional service and exquisite cuisine we experienced during our previous visit. We arrived a quarter of an hour early to check in for our reservation, and the Host welcomed us with genuine enthusiasm, delighted to celebrate our milestone with us. This time, we were seated on the opposite side of the establishment, enjoying a picturesque view of the grand courtyard fountain. Our table, a cozy booth reserved just for us, was elegantly adorned with rose petals, soft candlelight, meticulously folded napkins, and a thoughtful card. The card warmly welcomed us to Rene, expressing gratitude for sharing our special day with them. Our server, Jessica, was nothing short of extraordinary. Our evening commenced with an exquisite selection of appetizers and a sumptuous soup. We indulged in Garlic Shrimp, Escargot, and Lobster Bisque. The Spanish Garlic Shrimp (Gambas Al Ajillo) was a masterpiece, perfectly sautéed with delicate shavings of garlic, dried Arbol chili, bay leaf, sherry, butter, parsley, and roasted red bell pepper. The escargot, elegantly baked in a flaky pastry with roasted garlic and sherry-infused mushrooms, was a delightful treat. The Lobster Bisque (Armagnac-cognac), enriched with crème fraiche, succulent lobster, tarragon, vanilla bean, and pistachio nuts, was a symphony of flavors. Each spoonful revealed subtle hints of vanilla, a luxurious silkiness of lobster, and the delightful crunch of pistachios. For our main courses, we savored the Roast Rack of Lamb, adorned with a mustard crust and accompanied by a choice
