It is our goal to have our menu derive from fresh and local seasonal ingredients from Hudson Valley and New York area. By supporting sustainable practices, our guests have the pleasure of experiencing what farm to table dining is about and offering a new take on American Cuisine. Tea service will include 1 tea flavor, 1 3-tiered tray of assorted sandwiches, scones & desserts. Reservations are preferred and walk-ins are welcomed based on availability. The food presentation was poor and it was freezing in the restaurant despite the fireplace being in low. Barely any service. I was automatically charged an 18 percent tip which I didn’t see at bottom of bill and tipped the server cash. Now I need to call the restaurant to have my tip refunded since I paid twice. Not a good experience.

I was sadly disappointed about my Christmas Day dinner at 1915. After not visiting there for several years, yet being assured that the quality of food and service was the same, I was looking forward to our family holiday celebration there. Instead, I was greeted with a freezing cold room, as well as food that was either lukewarm or ice cold. There were no carving stations, a very small selection of food options to choose from, and a dessert selection that seemed to come out of the frozen section of a local supermarket. The wait staff was pleasant, but we had to practically wave them down to get our drink order filled. I never mind paying for good food and service, especially on a holiday, but our bill for 4 people came to over 400.00, which included an 18% gratuity for staff. It’s a shame that such a great, reliable restaurant such as this has become so lackluster and disappointing.

For the last two years, we have dined for Christmas or Christmas Eve at Restaurant 1915. Two years ago, the buffet was outstanding with several entrees that were a bit different and excellent, especially the tenderloin. Last year for the sit-down dinner venue for Christmas Eve, the venue was delicious and quite varied. Both of those years we dined at $50 per person and we were able to tip accordingly, which we did generously. This year, the price was raised to $75 with automatic tip of 18% and the fireplace was not even lit as it had in prior years. The meat entrees were cold, tasteless and totally unappetizing. In previous years, the desserts were decadent and abundant with variety. Today, it seemed as if Restaurant 1915 bought and thawed out a Sare Lee white cake that was dry and the other desserts cheap and barely edible. Based upon the prior two years experiences, we anticipated a gourmet Christmas festival. Instead, we were extremely disappointed. I will be sharing this with my local FB groups. And sadly, we will have to try a different venue for next year. Restaurant 1915 should be ashamed of itself. On a positive note, the wait staff was nice.

The food was wonderful, buffet style, so some items were not piping hot. The ambience is great, the service was wonderful. Christmas Eve at Restaurant 1915/The Bear Mtn. Inn will be a new tradition.

Lack of service, food is just ok it could be much better for the price. Ambient too boring.. Beautiful old fashioned decor and really nice fireplace.

We attended the Santa Brunch and had a great time! The food was a buffet which is always pretty mediocre, but the bacon was cooked well and the waffles were good! Also, hot chocolate was a hit for the littles and our waitress brought us an extra mimosa, so no complaints there. The private visit with Santa was extra special and I think we’ll be going back next year.

My sister and I decided to visit Bear Mountain for High Tea in memory of our Mom who was born in London. We had a lovely time. The tea selection was plentiful and both were delicious. Then the tower of finger sandwiches and goodies arrived - everything was wonderful. And the surroundings within and outside the Bear Mountain Inn are gorgeous. Thanks for a special time!

We booked a table for 5 for Brunch with Santa on Dec. 15 and were very excited to try the food out for the first time since we live about 20 minutes away and have never tried it! When we got there, we didn't find any signs pointing us towards the brunch or any people who could direct us so I went to the front desk at the inn to ask and was told where to go (upstairs dining area). It felt a bit unorganized, but the place is beautiful, and I was willing to be patient. We had signed up for the 10am brunch and the line at the door was very long so next time we might sign up for the later session to see if there might be less of a wait. Fortunately, the line did move well once the doors opened. We were seated but again, no instructions as to whether we should go to the the buffet or wait to be asked. Finally saw everyone else getting on line so we did too, but the line was long and disorganized, and it would have helped to have someone guiding people to the different lines. I have to say the food was fabulous though, but we felt rushed to leave and our server was taking plates away before we were done eating, so we had to hang on to our food since getting seconds was almost impossible! Also felt like the people serving at the buffet were giving such small portions that next time we might have to grab 2 plates or miss any seconds! I had gotten a small piece of French toast that was delicious, but the server gave me no blueberries and I had to ask, but only got 5 little blueberries, which is OK, but when I went back up an hour later, the food was already put away. Since they were in such a rush, when we got the check, my husband paid, and I never looked at his receipt. We got home and I got the emailed receipt and looked and saw that they had charged us $48 for our 2-year-old grandson who was supposed to be free. They also automatically added 18% for gratuity, which is fine, but we are trying to contact the restaurant to get credit for the overcharge.
