The Restaurant at The Durham serves an ever-evolving seasonal menu of American classics and regional specialties made with the bounty of produce, meats, cheeses and seafood from our local farms and purveyors. Start with drinks and sunset views on The Roof, followed by dinner in the Restaurant’s glass-walled dining room with striking mid-century design.

Reservations made through OpenTable are for the Restaurant only. For Roof reservations and private event inquiries, please call 919-768-8831.

    Welcome 2025 with an elegant New Year’s Eve dinner at The Durham Hotel. Our $95 prix fixe menu offers three thoughtful courses featuring locally inspired ingredients and seasonal flavors. Begin with options like Hamachi Crudo with Caviar or a Savory Black Truffle Crème Brûlée. Entrée selections include Duck Breast with a Szechuan-Blood Orange Glaze, Banana Leaf-Wrapped Fish with Forbidden Black Rice, or Root Beer Braised Short Rib with Black Truffle Spaetzle. End the evening and the year with a sweet note, choosing from Tiramisu, Chocolate Crémeux, or Pomegranate Champagne Sorbet. Dine with us from 5-10 PM in our warm & inviting dining room.     First, this is one of our fav restaurants. Had the scallops which was a new item/recipe. Overwhelming spices. Indian (which I love) but the scallops were doused in garam masala and other sweet spices to a gut wrenching level. Had to leave the last one. The squash puree was over spiced and on and on. Half the spice level and this could have been a wonderful dish.

    My only complaint is that we did “Dinner Before the Show” which is a price fixe menu to help facilitate a quicker meal in order to make it to a show at DPAC. We were there for an hour and a half with a 5:30 reservation. I feel like I could have ordered off of the regular menu, which has many more options, and still would have been there the same amount of time.

    While we enjoyed our food, it took 1 hour 40 minutes to get through a prix fixe menu. When we were originally seated, we were not given the correct menu, despite confirming online. The menu is called the pre theater dinner and yet there was little mindfulness to our start time of 8pm for our show. We had to run to make it 8 minutes before the start time. Our reservation was at 6 and we got there at 6:02. At times I felt that I was having to rush the staff. There were four other tables in the restaurant during our dinner. The food was delicious, although the appetizer soup was warm and not hot. Lesson learned. We will not be dining before any other time obligations in the future.

    Second year spending Thanksgiving at The Durham. Excellent Family Style dinner. Our server was excellent and the whole staff was welcoming especially Tyson, the manager. Highly recommended

    Really nice experience. Wished there was more food but I enjoyed every course. The staff were attentive and polite. chef Savannah is an amazing and talented chef and so glad to have her in Durham.

    Friendsgiving at the Durham Hotel was pleasant in atmosphere and joining with friends but the meal was not very good and parts were even cold (beans were cold) though the restaurant was not busy. I would not return to dinner here.

    The wait staff was totally professional and "Johnny on the Spot" with any of our needs. The food was fantastic, and a great value for what was provided.

    First off drink order wasn't correct and had to be remade. Surprising that the restaurant was almost empty at 7pm even though the streets were packed with traffic and a large number of people walking downtown. Significant foot traffic through the lobby going upstairs. I had the jerk chicken. Large portion but vegetables were over cooked and presentation was not the best. Service was good. Price was too high for the value of the food Now I know why they only serve dinner a few evenings a week.

    Cute boutique hotel with a mid-century modern vibe in the main dining room. The Bloody Mary was excellent. The food was meh. The service was slow.
