I’ve been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long time. Just to say I’ve been there and done that if nothing else.
It is beautiful and it is elegant. The service was excellent and very professional on every level except for their front desk. They seem to be in disarray for sure. It’s true that we were early and we’re seated about a half an hour earlier than our reservation but that has nothing to do with what seemed like general disorganization of many girls seeming confused. We would have liked to have been seated in the main area of the restaurant where you really feel the beauty and splendor of a rooftop place with its gorgeous ambiance throughout. Being early and being seated early I didn’t want to be fussy and express that preference but I certainly should have. It was sort of ok in the side room but not the same at all as it would have been. My friend was staring at someone’s balcony while a lady “let her dog out” on the balcony, while I sat facing into the center of the restaurant. I apologized for that as I was also disappointed.
I knew it had a limited menu so that wasn’t an issue. I also knew that it, even for lunch, it would be a more expensive outing than usual. I was disappointed that they didn’t have a full bar rather just wine and maybe beer. The shaved rib eye sandwich was excellent. The sweet potato fries with a ramekin of sauce on the side was excellent as well. The lobster roll was good too but they should be ashamed of serving a lobster roll with the scant amount of lobster on top of it.They sit the lobster ON TOP ONLY of a roll, the roll itself not even separated so really just very little on top but it’s really next to nothing and I’ve had lobster rolls before. We shared both entrees. Again food was good.
All in all I’m glad I did the “been there done that” outing that I was looking forward to. However, sitting in one of the side rooms, even though it had the beautiful chandeliers and all, wasn’t the experience I was looking to have.
