    I requested a booth for 2 in a low traffic area so that we could really just enjoy one another. Our table was exactly as I hoped and the staff had it nicely set up with some “happy birthday” touches that made us feel important. My only complaint was that our waiter seemed to rush us. Brought complimentary dessert to the table before one of us was finished with our entree. Brought the dessert menu before one of us was done with our entree and the complimentary ice cream was gone. We could just tell they wanted to turn our table over for the next party but we were trying to enjoy our one meal out on the town without our kids while we had childcare arranged which is a rare occurrence plus we were celebrating! The food was perfectly delicious.

    Richards has been one of the greatest restaurants in Boise for 8 yrs. If you haven't tries you are only weeks away until it changes ownership. don't miss your opportunity.

    Lovely dining experience in a great setting. Generous portions of delicious food, relaxed but knowledgable and polished service and an “off the beaten path” wine list that was reasonably priced and nicely poured. Lively for a Thursday night but still able to carry on a conversation without raised voices. Beautifully done all around

    Great service and food. Happy that Richard is able to retire but will miss his influence in the Boise community, and his tomato basil soup, which is iconic!

    Our family enjoyed a birthday celebration meal on Dec 6. Service was great. Our server, Kimber, was excellent. The fig flatbread appetizer was probably the hit of the night. Entrees were very good, but not exceptional. Our selections ranged from Black Cod, Flat Iron Steak to a special Duck thigh something. All were properly prepared and served at a proper temperature. We’re a bit saddened that Richard’s will be shuttered at the end of this year, but a new restaurant will be taking the space and we look forward to that.

    What a Disappointment for Thanksgiving. After being seated we were told there was only wine and beer being served. We almost got up and left. The server did a great job and was the only highlight of the dinner. The dinner was served at a very fast pace. we were not finished one course and another was being being served. My turkey dinner was good, I had to ask for the cranberry sauce as it was served with the dish. The OSSO BUCCO was not fall off the bone. it was dry and over cooked. Even using a steak knife it was tough. Finally as were finishing the meal rolls were being served to customers arriving. We were never offered them. Richards was sold but says they are open until January. Maybe they are already gone. What a disappointment.

    We’ll miss Richard’s dining experience. Though we haven’t eaten there often, we save it for special occasions. The location is convenient for us, and the food, service, and ambiance are great.
