    What a wonderful place for my granddaughter's birthday lunch. The food was excellent and unique and the service impeccable. Hadn't been here for some time and was not disappointed!

    Rioja never disappoints. The service is perfectly timed and committed to providing the best experience possible. We had the tasting menu and they allowed a substitution which was very accommodating. The food is creative, beautifully presented and always delicious. We consider Rioja a "special occasion" restaurant because of the impeccable quality of everything.

    We came in and ordered the New Years Eve tasting menu after recommendation from our server. The first course was ok but a little bit of a let down when expecting a dumpling and receiving crab salad wrapped in avocado. The second course was absolutely disgusting. It was oysters with beet sorbet and horseradish cream. I love oysters but was gagging eating it. One of the worst things I’ve ever had served to me they should have just served the oysters on the half shell. The duck and beef cheek 3rd and 4th courses were fine but nothing to write home about. The dessert was also fine. Maybe it’s just this tasting menu that was a flop but for almost $400 for two people I won’t be back and won’t be recommending this place to anyone. The only reason this review isn’t one star is that the staff was kind and attentive.

    Our experience was only average. There were very few guest and the staff was noisy and disruptive. The artichoke torteloni was exceptional, unlike the rest of the meal.
