Voted "VERY GOOD" by The New York Times.
Rive is a French Bistro on the Saugatuck River in Westport, created by Chef Eric Sierra whose Bistro des Amis in downtown Westport was, for a decade, the go-to place of some of the world's best French bistro cooking.

Like the legendary bistros of Paris, Rive is warm, and convivial, a true bistro populaire.

The dining room, with a wrap-around wall of windows overlooks a bend in the river, there is fireplace for winter, and in warm weather there is an outdoor patio that feels like a cafe on the Seine.

With a suave lighting, urban decor and, of course, un comptoir (a bar) serving hip cocktails and wine by the glass, Rive is very much of-the -moment, as popular Parisian bistros today.

                                                              I could not have picked a better place to meet with my son. Friendly, good gourmet food, lovely location by the water. Definitely an upscale experience. Definitely a come back restaurant.

                                                              I highly recommend Rive Bistro. The restaurant overlooks the Saugatuck River. The food is wonderful and the wait staff is very attentive. My main course was trout and my dinner date had steak. Both were excellent.

                                                              Always a popular and busy spot. Food is always good. I always order the same meal - shrimp and avocado salad and a share of lovely hot fries with my friend. A glass of Prosecco to accompany made a perfect lunch with a lovely view of the river.

                                                              From the moment we walked into the restaurant and was graciously greeted by the owner and placed at a lovely cozy corner table overlooking the river, it was magical. The service was attentive and friendly and the menu had so many wonderful and delicious dishes that we will 100% be back. Loads of easy parking, a true gem indeed!

                                                              We’ve been to Riverside Bistro many times and it has always been very good and reliable. The service has been attentive but not pushy, the food is served hot and plentiful. With a fine view of the river just 20 feet away, it’s also very relaxing.

                                                              Beautiful as always. We had a lovely dinner at Rive Bistro with our neighbors. Our table was nicely chosen at the waterfront. The service was amazing. The food was beyond delicious. I picked my favorite: the trout almondine. We love this place so much!
