First time visiting Rockefeller for husband's birthday and we were very impressed with the service and the vibe. The restaurant is tucked away at The Mercado in Scottsdale which in itself, has a quaint feel. As we approached the restaurant, the large door was quite inviting. Once inside, the huge bar catches your eye right away and you can see the bartender's mixing up drinks and enjoying laughs with the patrons.
We were early for our reservation which was no problem, the hostess greeted us right away and we were able to choose where to sit. We picked a high-top right by the bar so we could get a good look at all the fun cocktails being made. Our server introduced himself and let us know it was still Happy Hour and pointed out a few good selections. We chose the shrimp ceviche, which was really good and for drinks we had a couple of spicy Paloma's which were also quite good.
As we reviewed the menu, there were so many options, we knew it would be hard to choose. Jacob suggested the Chilean Sea Bass, so we took his advice, and the Blackened Halibut was our 2nd selection. These dishes did not disappoint, the plating was beautiful and the sauces complimented the fish without overpowering.
To top off an amazing evening, a slice of NY style strawberry cheesecake was brought to the table in celebration of B-Day which was heavenly.
We had a great experience and will definitely put this on our fine dining rotation. If you are looking for really good seafood, you need to try Rockefeller.
