This Big Sur icon has been a dining and drinks tradition for over 60-years (est. 1947) Located just off the famous “Scenic California Highway-1" (12 minutes drive from Carmel-by-the-Sea) Rocky Point Restaurant is located a short 2 hrs. South of San Francisco. It is the ideal stop for tours originating from Los Angeles or San Francisco heading up or down the Coast. A Feast for All The Senses -Great food and Spectacular Views- Spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean as you sit perched cliff-side; either inside through panoramic windows next to a cozy fireplace or outside on our open-air deck. Catch a glimpse of playful sea-otters, dolphins, seals, and even whales. Some have even spotted large fins cutting the waves, as great-white sharks cruise the kelp beds. The crab sliders and hamburger were great. The chicken sandwich , the chicken was thin and very dry. The person in my party should have sent it back, but she did not want to make an issue so only ate half. The staff is very nice, sure it could have been resolved. Beautiful location.

Great ocean view on a beautiful sunny day, sat outside soaking up the sun and watching the whale spouts, worth the 20 min drive from Carmel. Food was average for a local oceanfront restaurant (had Crab Salad Sliders, prime rib sandwich). Waiter couldn't get the kids plain burger right, kept coming out with other stuff on it which the kid won't it after it's "tainted" (a pickle is touching it, I can't eat it!). There was a sign in the lobby saying they weren't serving cocktails until after 5:00pm, which seemed odd for a place that does drinks with a view much better than their food.

This restaurant is ALL ABOUT THE VIEW! Go for an amazing view of the sunset. The food is fine/good. There is something for everyone here. The restaurant has a charming feel to it. But the main draw is that gorgeous view. There is not a restaurant for miles that has such a unique spot - and rocks by the water you can climb around. Great for photos!

The host took us to a dirty table, she got a towel n sweep the crumbs from the table to the table placemat n put back on the table...so we left that table n went to sit on the bench table outside where it was much cleaner. It's Christmas but wasn't even busy. Service is very slow, they forget to bring us hot sauce when we asked for it. Food was delicious. View was beautiful.

Rocky Point never disappoints. My husband and I had a fantastic lunch on the outside terrace. Spectacular, dramatic ocean view, attentive service and excellent menu. Definitely worth the 20 min drive along HWY 1 from Carmel.

A belated birthday lunch/brunch for a friend was the occasion. It was a gorgeous day and we sat outside enjoying the spectacular and breathtaking views of the ocean. The brunch was delicious and our server, Austin, was friendly, fun and attentive. I love this special place and I would highly recommend it for any and all occasions.

Food was insanely overpriced. 12$ to have your fries switched out for onion rings(on top of the original price for your entree)Redeeming qualities were the view and our service. Austin was truly a gem. Funnny thoughtful and attentive. Food wasn’t great but the view is worth the drive for at least a glass of wine.

Amazing. I arrived about 30 min before sunset, got my table with a view, ordered a drink and then enjoyed the drink while walking around enjoying the waves and the sunset. WHAT A VIEW!!! I then went in to enjoy dinner and the remained of the sunset, and as twilight ended the lights lit up the rocks so I could still enjoy the crashing waves!!!
