The cuisine served at the restaurant is traditional "kaiseki" cuisine prepared by chef Daisuke Hayashi. He has been trained at "Kikunoi" and his proven cooking techniques have been appreciated by many customers. His cuisine is based on dashi and the flavors of the seasonal ingredients themselves.

The interior had been made in Kyoto and shipped to London to be assembled by the craftsmen from Nakamura Sotoji Komuten, one of the world's leading experts in the Sukiya style.

This project started with a desire to follow in the footsteps of our predecessors and to spread the still developing category of Japanese food culture, kaiseki, to the world.

    Special Sake and Wine dinner at the Chef's table on 6th of March. Mr.Niizawa from Niizawa brewery in Miyagi who produces a sought after sake brand Hakurakusei is joining to showcase their flagship sakes. The lineup includes something connoisseurs always dream to have such as Zankyo Super 7, Hakurakusei Hikari, and Niizawa 2023! The evening is with not only special sakes but also premium wines equivalent quality, a bottle of Guillaume Selosse, and a magnum of Henri Bonneau! As some describe the drink experience at Roketsu very unique, traditional sake matches the authentic cuisine, while the finesse of wines purely enhances the flavours of Japanese dishes.

                  We had a magical evening and felt like we'd spent an evening in Japan. The food was delicious and the service amazing. We can't wait to come back and try the seasonal menu later in the year. One of our all time favourite meals!

                  The service and the staff were amazing. Maybe it’s a matter of culture, or we’re lacking knowledge of the Japanese traditional cuisine (although we eat a lot Japanese) but it was too minimal, too basic . Nothing was brilliant or exciting about the food. If it was a street food experience so it could have been nice but for a luxury experience restaurant it didn’t work for us.

                  The look and feel was absolutely like being in a Japanese restaurant. We loved everything about it and will be back soon. Would recommend the sake and Japanese wine pairing. The only small tweak we would make is to tone down the lighting over the diners slightly to give it more ambience.

                  It was a nice experience, you can really feel the Japanese culture but we didn’t enjoy fully due to a few aspects: They served us a white wine which was not at the right temperature, I’ve asked to add ice in the wine bowl but they didn’t so only after 1h the wine was finally ok . By eating a la carte menu (our choice ) I think was to expensive . Finally the chef (who’s working all the time in front of the long bar where we was seating) did only interact with a few customer and not with all the guests . Overall price/ value is not worth it .
