We had 3:00 pm reservation for 6. Not crowded. First we had the menus for 30 minutes-made selections. Then told we needed to have dinner menus not brunch. Two of us had already decided selection. After finally ordering, we waited and a pizza order came. Mu husband finally had to start eating as it was getting cold. The other five entrees started arriving at 10 minute intervals. So everyone was starting the meal at different times. I waited and waited - finally told it would be there. Waited some more. EVERYONE ELSE HAS FINISHED. Waitress asked manager to come over. He proceeded to tell me that the salmon was taking much longer to cook. Remember all other 5 meals have been eaten. He said he would comp my meal. The sweet waitress told the true reason for the delay-the ticket or order to the cooks did not go in. When it FINALLY came I had it boxed to take away. I would have been eating alone. We had been there for almost 2 hours and we were scheduled for a Christmas concert. The sweet waitress was extremely apologetic and offered two complimentary desserts. I took that in a box as well. She was not responsible for delay/confusion. The manager manager used the cooking time as an excuse and not the truth of lost order.
Again, the restaurant was not overly busy and many vacant tables.
FOOD PORTIONS: pizza, French fries, and chicken were the only items that portions looked adequate. My order of salad with added salmon was skimpy at best. Tiny piece of salmon on top of not much salad with added few skinny pieces of pears. Others meals looked skimpy as well.
I chose this place as we have had great dining several times at the Roosters South Park. This whole experience at Ballantyne was disappointing and sad. On a positive note, our Christmas concert was wonderful. Prayers for God’s blessing to all who might read this.
