   We had a great meal at Root Down. The cauliflower, veggie sliders, arepas and banana pie were all delicious! We had great service from Cass and will be back to try more of the menu!

   Root down is very consistently good to excellent. We liked our mains (didn't love them), loved the service, and the desserts ere out-of-this-world! We will be back.

   Don't let the food descriptions on the menu fool you. Everything on the menu is amazing and tastes great. We always love the risotto and the gnocchi in particular, and the Devils on Horseback (ask for 6 so you can split it evenly!). There was a bit of a miss this trip in that the timing the kitchen and bar seemed off. Took quite a while to get our initial waiter greeting and drinks, and the lamb sliders came not-warm because they were waiting on the sweet potato fries for several minutes (we could see from our seat). They cheerfully replaced and didn't charge us for them, but we watched several orders come out with this same timing issue. Otherwise the staff was great and friendly, and checked on us several times after the initial slight delay. The desert was ok but not great... when I hear chocolate hazelnut I want to taste the chocolate and the hazelnut! It was still good, but just not as good as I would hope compared to the rest of the food. But again, we love the food here, every single time!

   Douglas made our walk down memory lane wonderful. We used to live in Denver and loved going to Root Down. Now we live in Franklin, TN and came into town for our son’s 30th birthday. What a treat that Root Down is still just as fabulous as it was it was new restaurant.

   Great place! Food and ambiance very good, service was excellent! We arrived before our reservation time and they seated us. Our server (Rae?) was excellent, especially because she gave us specific, honest advice about our portion and item choices. We will be back!
