My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience here for Valentine’s Day! The food was delicious! We enjoyed the duck fat fried chicken, redfish, deviled eggs, greens and orange juice cake. The service was wonderful, staff checked on us often. The live music was a plus. We highly recommend spending an evening here!

We had an amazing Valentine’s dinner. The butter beans were so delicious that we ordered an extra one to go so we could enjoy them with our leftovers;) I wish they had live music every night it was so enjoyable for this couple of New Orleans transplants.

Shef Derry and Chef Tevon continue to put out delicious food in a great environment. The caviar app was delicious and the persimmon carpaccio was a perfect balance of flavors. The halibut was perfectly cooked and the pork was so tender. Staff were attentive and made sure everything was perfect.

Amazing Food & Incredible Experience! From start to finish, this restaurant delivered an unforgettable dining experience. We kicked things off with the deviled eggs and gumbo, and as a self-proclaimed gumbo connoisseur, I can confidently say this was one of the best I’ve had in a long time—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For the main course, we went with a family staple: fried chicken. It was everything you want in fried chicken—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. The collard greens were packed with flavor, and the shrimp fried rice was a delicious surprise, full of bold and savory notes. To top it all off, my cousin and I enjoyed a few of their specialty cocktails, the Purple Rain was absolutely fantastic. Meeting the chef was a highlight; she was incredibly kind and accommodating, which made the experience even more special. Although I don’t live in Dallas, I’m already looking forward to coming back. If you’re a local or just visiting, this place is a must-try!

We loved our experience at Roots. The fried chicken was perfection, the lamb pasta was absolutely amazing (my personal fav), and the shrimp fried rice was a 10/10. Of course we tried the cornbread and it was magnificent. For dessert, we had that orange juice cake and it was also great! Our drinks were worth the price which is rare nowadays in most restaurants since they dilute the alcohol. Roots Souther Table hits #1 on my black-owned restaurant favorites. So glad we tried it out!!

Sophie was great guiding us through unique, delicious recommendations from cocktails to persimmon carpaccio and gumbo. The greens and redfish were savory and so flavorful. And applepie breadpudding with orange cranberry gelato was a yummy finish. The fried chicken and biscuits were served to all the tables around us - next time... Thanks for a great meal (and birthday celebration)!

What a great evening of celebrating my wife’s and her best friend’s birthdays at Roots. Not only was the food great, the service with Brianna was very attentive and pleasant. A special treat came our way when Tiffany showed up in the kitchen and we got her pic with the two birthday girls!! A night to remember, no doubt!-) Thank you!
