Valentine’s Day & my wife’s Birthday dinner, 7:15pm reservation in Banquet Room as main restaurant full, we arrived on time. Waited over 30 minutes for seating, waitress was friendly but handling many tables, ordered dinners before 8pm, bread and salads came, ordered drink refills several times no dinner entrees and no updates by the waitress. Other customers who came in after us received entrees and were dining. I finally asked our waitress if our orders were forgotten, she apologized and said she would check. Time passed, finally she and then the manger explained our orders hadn’t been processed, apparently other orders also had this happen. Both apologized, because two dinners were prime rib it was uncertain if there were roasts still available as it was so late now. We finally learned there was prime rib still available but it wasn’t finished cooking, we would need to wait longer. The manager offered appetizers while we waited we thanked him but refused.
It was around 9:45 before our entrees finally arrived, the restaurant was now 1/2 empty. The prime rib dinners were good, my daughter’s Salmon Neptune was good however my wife’s crab cakes were burned on the bottom, out of view. My wife didnt want to complain given how late it was and she wasn’t able to wait any longer for any replacement entree. When the bill arrived I assumed the manager might have discounted it some given the unusual delay, I was wrong. Instead the bill had $28 added on the full price for two desserts we didn’t order or receive. The waitress apologized and deleted the desserts when I pointed it out however the full dinner prices remained, the manager never offered to adjust the bill. We left after approx. 3 hrs after we arrived, very disappointed. We have dined at Rudy’s dozens of times over the past decade, it has been our #1 dinner out destination. This is by far the worst experience we have ever had at Rudy’s, we will never accept a reservation in the Banquet Room again.
