Service was good - from the time we were greeted and seated by the Host and then served by our Server. This part of the experience was pleasant. However, there are some opportunities with the food and beverage quality. We ordered 3 appies, 4 entrees, alcoholic and soft drinks. Calamari and fish bites were overcooked - fish was dry and looked like chicken nuggets, and the calamari was hard and overcrisped. Both lacked flavor. The arancini was OK, but also lacked flavor. The main courses of swordfish and chicken - these were better. But again the swordfish was overcooked and dry and the chicken breast was overwhelmed with the sauce. However, the malanga mash and the risotto were both well prepared and tasty. We also had BOTH desserts available. These were the only choices, so we would expect better quality with their signature desserts. In addition, they ran out of coffee when we ordered this with our dessert. There were NO coffee grinds available to brew. Considering it was a Wednesday night and not alot of clients, we believe that the overall food quality and experience could have been better. Attention to details, such as wobbly table legs. We did not have an opportunity to go upstairs to the bar/play area so we cannot speak on this. There is competition within the same block where the food quality, service and experience is far superior. Last night was a VERY RARE time where we hesitated in the tip amount. NOT because of the Server, she was great. But because of the food quality and overall experience. Sabalos has only been opened for a few months, so I hope this feedback can be take openly as an opportunity to improve and build a thriving business. There is alot of potential. We wish you all much success.
