Bringing new life to St James’s with classic French dishes and modern creations, the Saint Jacques seasonal menu blends tradition and innovation to suit all tastes – from Richard’s legendary tableside prepared Steak Tartare to a decadent fondant au chocolat.

Saint Jacques’ interior amalgamates the characteristics of a warm traditional brasseries with a vibrant and fresh aesthetic. Key features include the light and airy main dining area, where the clean and organic design coupled with the floral artwork complements the local and seasonal ingredients used. Our French windows then open onto our courtyard, a tranquil oasis of a kind rarely found in Central London.

Jacques is a rarity, a genuine French bistro where all the staff are actually French, and the cooking as well! Perfect for a business lunch or lunch with old friends with plenty of great wine!

Excellent food and service. It is refreshing to eat somewhere where you can relax and hear your companions. Although the restaurant was full, there was sufficient space between tables to be able to enjoy the evening.

From arrival to departure we were looked after. Despite a large party having Christmas celebrations we were served promptly and courteously. It was refreshing to have a dog friendly restaurant in Central London as well. Food was classically French and excellent

Wonderful restaurant and all the food was a scrummy. Staff were absolutely lovely. So helpful and kind, without being intrusive. Will definitely be going back.

We always enjoy our visits to Saint Jacques. The welcome is always warm and the service is exemplary. The food gets better and better, this time I had the scallops (St Jacques!) and the pheasant, which was an enormous portion, and very flavoursome. The wine list is well chosen with some unusual wines and all very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

We were struggling to find a table on a Saturday night in the area near Green Park/Picadilly...this place looked nice and had availability so we decided to give it a go. It has a pleasant (not spectacular) interior and friendly staff but it was lacking in ambience. The tables were half full at peak time 8pm on a Saturday evening and the food ranged from OK to good but again nothing outstanding. We all had starters and mains, and shared some sides, only one person had dessert. We had one bottle of white and a carafe of red (both the cheapest available, and 2 people had a digestif of Armagnac) The final bill was £465 for 4 people with an 'optional' 15% service charge already included on the bill. Maybe I'm out of touch but that is a hefty bill for some perfectly nice, but pretty simple French food that you could get in Soho at half that price. We won't be returning I'm afraid as I think there are much better places to go if you're going to spend that amount of money. Probably why it was only half full.
