The reservation worked and we were placed decently, the place has a charm and atmosphere that stood the test of times, I had been an occasional guest several times roughly two decades ago and came again. The waitress was helpful, professional and dedicated. The menu has a wide choice of classics and sophisticated but not overly engineered dishes, it is a decent up-market italian restaurant with a long tradition in this place, dating from the time before Berlin became a posh or hip metropolis. However, one of the starters we had (melanzane alla parmigiana), which is supposed to come piping hot from the oven, was more stomach-friendly luke warm, and one of our group was granted a good 15 minutes extra time to appreciate the view of the 6 main courses in our group of seven before his dish arrived, without a warning this would happen. The food was good otherwise, but the experience left room for improvement. The restaurant offered an espresso as compensation. I might come back for good memories, but if your life or carreer depends on the perfect dinner, you might be at risk. If you are relaxed about an occasional lapse in the kitchen, you will enjoy the place.
