So, I’ll start by saying I made 3 back to back, afternoon reservations at SPS on New Years Eve, which also happens to be my birthday. In NO WAY were we there to celebrate NYE. My first reservation was at 1pm for lunch for 10 people. All social media platforms said they opened their doors at 11, cool. We arrive, and they don’t open until 3. No explanation. Just locked the door on us. So had to find something to do to kill 2 hours. Bowling was fine, our reservation was at 3pm, but they were extremely understaffed and begged us not to order any food. We were basically the only people there until 8ish, and yet still couldn’t serve us food or get drinks finished in a timely fashion. No server or attendant was around to help us so we had to keep going upstairs to the bar to order. Ok, fine. My reservation for karaoke was at 5, bartender told us it should be no problem to get a spot in there all evening as it wasn’t super popular. Go down there, and they tell us the room isn’t available because it’s the VIP section for the DJ who is headlining that night…at 11pm…OK?
So, I know that they are new, but overall this experience was only so-so, and for my group, that spent well over $500 at their establishment, our treatment was less than so-so. We stayed until about 9pm, and the final straw was being told we could use the photobooth, then being told by the person attending the photobooth that it was only for NYE participants, and it didn’t open until 9 (literally 15 minutes). Will I go back? Probably not. The good did not outweigh the bad, and I understand it was NYE, but I also know it’s not THAT hard to be organized and let your customers what is going on. But it didn’t even seem like staff knew what was going on. Overall just a bizarre experience, but thanks for taking our money!
