Traditionally inspired from dishes, ingredients & techniques spanning the Malay archipelago, namely Singapore & Indonesia. Regionally influenced by Northern California’s palette of producers, produce, and presentation. Essentially: expressing these tropical, cosmopolitan island flavor profiles through the abundance of what thrives in Northern California’s Mediterranean climate and terrain.  Nusantara cuisines could be characterized as intense, rich, spiced (more than spicy). Steeped in time and layers of complexity, both in the kitchen and in the long history of diverse peoples in this part of the world. Chef Nora Haron draws from this wealth of culinary knowledge, plus contrasting Californian influences, which some could say to be the polar opposite: that deconstructed-composed, whole-ingredients-laid-bare simplicity, the lightness that has evolved in California eating through the few decades of this relatively young place.

    Great service, great food. Main dining area is sparsely decorated and sound just bounces - ambiance is the only thing that takes this down from a 5.

    They are taking on way more tables than they are set up to handle staff-wise. We arrived exactly on time for our reservation, and waited 25 minutes to get seated. And during that whole time we stood at the bar trying to order drinks for the wait and couldn't even place a drink order. It's not the staff's fault, everyone we saw was busy working and trying their best the entire time, but they had tons of folks waiting to be seated same as us, and even in overbooked manhattan restaurants I'm used to being able to at least order a drink during the wait time. When we were finally seated we realized that other patrons who had already been seated for 30+ minutes barely even had water glasses on their table, we didn't want to be there for 3 more hours so we left. I was pretty disappointed because the food looks great and I was looking forward to it, and like I said it's not the staff's fault, they were working hard, but they need to change how they're managing things or staff up better because they were not at all able to handle the amount of reservations they'd taken that night.

    Took my brother here for his birthday. I knew he would like the kind of food and I didn’t know if I would. I had been to the bakery and enjoyed all three pastries I’ve gotten so I wanted to try this new restaurant. It was very nice. We got a combination of probably five dishes and then dessert. There were a lot of unique flavors and we liked everything a lot. I would definitely go back.

    Too bad the grilled prawns from Nasi Goreng was hard and chewy and the Mussels was too spicy to enjoy. For the price of each meal at $25-$30, I was expecting a little more. I've had better for cheaper.

    Excellent choice for Indonesian cuisine, a rarity in the local food scene. Last night was our third visit: Grilled prawns, Seafood Adam, mussels, roti & nan. Perfectly cooked and presented. Nice selection of cocktails. Server(Frankie) was on point, very friendly. also GM and owner both toured all tables. We will return

    I brought my team here for an office party. The food was amazing. There was not enough wait staff for our party size. I had to clear our own dishes to make room for some party activities. The server was appreciative, but I shouldn’t have had to do that. All that said, we still had a great experience and I will return again because the food is so amazing .

    This place is a poor excuse for Indonesian food. The only decent dish was the fried rice—and let’s be honest, that’s hard to ruin. The rendang was unforgivably sweet, with flavors clashing like the chef just threw spices at a wall and hoped for the best. Every dish arrived lukewarm, as if they couldn’t be bothered to serve it hot. Tastes like someone’s half-hearted attempt to mimic their auntie’s cooking, banking on diners not knowing authentic Indonesian flavors. Skip it unless you want a watered-down introduction to the cuisine.

    Gado Gado is a perfect vegan dish. It would be nice if one could get some healthy tempeh. Fried tempeh is not very healthy
