At Sarto, we believe that poring over the details is always worth it; and that the joys of a meal go far beyond the food itself. In keeping with Italy’s authentic, old-world traditions, we’ve approached our menu in much the same way an Italian chef opening a restaurant here in America might ── with dishes composed of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, that honor our region in a modern way.

Prepared from an open concept kitchen, our menu features modern Italian fare made with the freshest local ingredients Rhode Island has to offer, complimented by award – winning wines and a carefully curated cocktail program.

Sarto is located just moments from local performing arts and convention centers in the historic Teste brownstone building. Originally built in 1860, our restaurant was once home to an apothecary, a money-to-loan business and later the Philip Wolfe Haberdasher, which inspired the name Sarto or tailor in Italian.

Celebrate the Holidays during Sarto’s Feast of the Seven Fishes. Sarto Restaurant is opening for a very special Feast of the Seven Fishes on Monday, December 23rd and Tuesday, December 24th. Enjoy a local oyster treat to start the evening followed by a three-course prix-fixe menu including Zuppa de Pesce, Grilled Octopus and Seared Cod. For dessert after enjoying an Espresso Panna Cotta, relax over a signature hot holiday cocktail, or pair with one of Sarto’s signature cocktails! Before you head home for the evening, be sure to step outside onto the Sarto Patio for a selfie under Sarto’s Illuminated Holiday Display! Only the Seven Fishes Prix-Fixe dinner menu will be available on both nights.
"Jazz It Up" with Sarto - Jazz Night Table Service

“Jazz It Up” with dinner, drinks and live music at the Sarto, as local trios perform hot Jazz from 8-11pm weekly on Saturdays. Out with a group? Perfect! Plan ahead and make online reservations for table service for you and your friends, so everyone has a seat during Jazz it up with Sarto! Heading to a show downtown? Be sure to stop by Sarto after the show and enjoy music, dessert or bar snacks and a late-night libation. As a proud supporter of local student musicians, Sarto will be booking college jazz groups to perform in the monthly calendar rotation. Are you a college student in a jazz group? There were 6 of us and we were going to a show so we had to find a restaurant close to the PPAC, and lucky for us we chose Sarto!! From the minute we walked in the wait staff was super attentive and sat us right down. The bartender even came over to listen to our drink selection and all the drinks were amazing, and we were given recommendations on appetizers and dinner selections that were spot on! Everyone loved their dinner choices, the food was amazing! The ambiance and great music playing topped off the experience!! We will definitely be back!!!! If you are going to a show at the PPAC this is the restaurant for you!!!

Great server- extremely knowledgeable and supportive with perfect attentiveness. Food was very good- portions were a bit small for the price- but delicious. We sat upstairs which had excellent ambiance. There were a few groups of patrons downstairs and they were very loud and the noise did carry to the upstairs impacting our ability to have nice conversation. Fully recommend this restaurant

We arrived 15 minutes late for our reservation due to traffic. Our server went out of his way to make sure we still made the 7:30 show at PPAC. Sarto is our favorite restaurant in Providence!

Service was impeccable, food was amazing, drinks were perfect. First time at Jazz Night, would definitely recommend it! Abby G was a friendly and attentive server, would ask for her again!

A different menu, but a nice change to the pallet. Cramped seating and noisy. Not a place to go for quiet meal and conversation

The food was excellent. A definite go to again! We shared two meals, the oxtail Ragu was outstanding and the porchetta was delicious I wish I didn't have to give half of it away. The only minor issue I ha was the swiss chard had a touch too much vinegar but I understand using the acid to cut throught the fatty richness of the prochetta. It was just a touch too much for me. The brown butter cake was also quite delicious with the candied pistachios a nice complement. When I go back it might be tough for me to pick different meals but there are so many great things on the menu.

Took the family for my wife's birthday. It is a very lively atmosphere, but not too loud for conversation. Service stays on point and they clearly want to make sure that you leave satisfied. We'll be going back! BTW... parking garage next door handles Sarto's valet parking. I missed this and ended up paying for parking at a nearby lot.
