Sartoria is the gastronomic proposal of Italian chef Marco Carboni (former chef at Osteria Francescana by Massimo Bottura), where he expresses the philosophy of his italian roots, based on the product, the season and a “hand-made” approach.

The menu is focused on seasonality, and products are produced in a sustainable way by small-scale producers. At Sartoria, pasta is produced artisanally every day, respecting italian tradition and simultaneously embracing mexican produce.

The warm ambiance of a traditional italian trattoria comes together with our vision of a contemporary osteria that is both dynamic and cosmopolite.

    The dome shape interior looks cool but I believe because of that I could hear the conversation from the table diagonally across the restaurant from us. We were seated next to the restroom which occasionally had a foul smell. Restaurant is small and tables are really close to each other so not the most comfortable. Food is up to par with the price but I wasn’t blown away.

    Overall 4 stars. Most of my dishes were really good, unfortunately on of my raw dishes wasn’t good. Management didn’t charge it but never came up to my table to apologize. Service was good.

    Pasta was delicious, service was spotty. Cocktails came after entrees, we had to flag our server and host multiple times for simple things like silverware and our check.

    We had our New Year’s Eve dinner here and it was our worst meal during our whole time in Mexico. Extremely cold service and the food is pretentious. More enjoyable for a camera than an actual palate. The steak with the fixed course meal was 3 measly small pieces which were not even seasoned well. We only enjoyed one dish which was the desert. It was also very very expensive at 125 usd each. Not sure how this restaurant has as many good reviews as it does. I would recommend the many other great restaurants in cdmx over this

    5/5 experience. The food was delicious - we especially enjoyed the Parmesan soup and the pancetta croquettes. All apps, main dishes, and desserts were among the best we’ve had in this city. We will absolutely be coming back!

    Wow is this place overrated. The arched ceiling is cool. The food leaves everything to be desired. Focaccia that’s dry and flavorless, grocery store-esque olives, “heirloom” tomatoes with no flavor and poor texture, shrimp stuffed pasta without any discernible shrimp, served in a sauce that was genuinely just warm cream with chili vinegar (barely two notes). Their own website says they are open until midnight and they book reservations until 11:30. I had a 10:15. Nonetheless, they showed me the desert menu when they brought my appetizer because “the kitchen was closing.” They walked giant bags of garbage out through the dining room twice while ~5 tables remained. They did not greet me at the door though they were standing right there. I had to speak to them first. I very sincerely tell you I have had similar food and service in an airport or a mall and wildly better food in places with half the hype. Skip it.
